Having problems with VIS CF trunk, anyone else have?
Just installed the VIS Carbon Fiber trunk yesterday and while it does latch and close, there seems to be some major air openings on the left and right side. I'll try to take pictures when I can, but was wondering if this is normal

A local member (DaddyLo) noticed the same issue with his CF trunk (I think it was VIS). If I remember correctly, he said that he had spoken to the manufacturer about it, and they stated that this was intentionally done in order to allow rain water to get to the drainage passages... He said that he hosed down the trunk to see if this was correct, and he found that no water actually got into the trunk beneath these raised edges (I'm assuming that you're referring to the raised edges along the sides of the trunk?). Thus, he assumed the the factory guys weren't pulling a fast one...
Send DaddyLo a PM and he can explain it better than I can, as my memory seems to be a bit fuzzy...

i have the vis trunk too. i had the same issues, and the company rep i talked to on the phone told me the same thing. i guess since someone else has said the same thing, they weren't just bs'ing me. mine is raised up a bit on the sides too, and i was nervous since i have 600$ worth of stereo in my trunk hahahah. after 8 months mine hasn't leaked once, so you should be fine. i was just worried that somehow i got a trunk that was screwed up.

if your not 1st your last
I also have this trunk and noticed that with out the rubber seal, around rim(black)
on the trunk it sits perfectly flush. I left it off for a few days but put it back on since the look of the trunk open and missing the strip looks like crap.working on another Idea cause the raised trunk pisses me off and everyone tell me that.

I have had the same problem! I like the trunk and it looks good on the car, but i am sick and tired of everyone pointing out how it doesn't fit perfectly flush so i took it off last week. I put the original back on.
