Talking Finally! #7440 Stealth Bulbs

I just got an e-mail today letting me know that a pre-order for stealthauto.com's #7440 stealth bulbs are finally being made. The estimated ship date is on 4/30. I pre-ordered 2 pairs from their website: one pair for the front turn signals and one pair for the rear turn signals. Now my sunlight silver will truly be silver!:D

I got the 7440s for mine. They took a little trimming before they would fit.

Did you get them from stealthauto.com? I had e-mailed them last year on why they didn't have the 7440 bulbs available. The just notified me of the preorder yesterday. I don't think you'd have received the 7440 stealth bulbs yet. I assumed that when I got them, they'd fit in just like the stock bulbs. The stealth bulbs look pretty cool though. The stealth auto website shows before and after pictures on their RX8. I guess one of the owners won an RX8 on Fear Factor.

Very cool I'm gonna order these.

What do you mean with "took a little trimming" It's nothing serious, is it?

Hi everyone...Todd here, from Stealth Auto.

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is absolutely no "trimming" necessary to install our 7440 bulbs. I have them in my Sunlight Silver RX-8 and they fit/look great. I don't know where TheDosDog got his 7440 bulbs, but they were not from us.

Please let me know if there are any questions about our bulbs that I can answer.

Todd

Check this site out: http://autolumination.com/7443_7440.htm

Scroll to the bottom to see their amber Chrome Silver Vision at a price you cannot beat! I've got them in front and in back and got the Super White versions for the reverse.

You cannot beat their prices or service for speedy fast delivery.

Quick question... I'm assuming those chrome 7440 bulbs are sold individually and not as a pair?

Most of the other bulbs on the site are, they just don't mention it for them.

Well the one's mainly being discussed in this thread are the 7440 stealth bulbs that would replace the amber turn signal bulbs from the front and back (a pair for each).

So now, instead of having some orange-looking bulbs on the front and back, the bulbs are clear but still light up amber in color. Makes it look better, orange has no place on the cars (especially on my tit gray )

I just ordered 4x 7443 Red LED sets for the brake/tail lights,
I already have stealth bulbs in clear side markers, and in my f/r blinkers (nasty yellow bulbs.....TOO "fast and furious" for me,lol!)
I also ordered,to replace the map lights,the super-blue 194s.
Great prices at that site, thanks for the tip,it's bookmarked!

From what I remember, they usually send them out twice a week, can't remember on what days. It usually took from 3 - 7 days, depends on when you ordered. You ordered on Wednesday so I would expect them by tomorrow. Did you receive an e mail confirmation that they were ordered? They send them via USPS in a little white box. Also, all lamps are sold singularly.

I put the amber LEDs in my clear side markers but, since their housing body is yellow, I covered it with chrome tape I had laying around to keep the color out. This can be purchased at any auto parts place. I liked the looks of running white lamps, but, it's not legal. Speaking of which, from what I understand, even having clear side markers are ilegal because most states require the side marker to reflect amber.

got my corners and stealth bulbs on yesterday, as well as the super white led 194s for my running lights. man, do those leds look 200x better! its gives it a bluish glow, and combined w/my red lights in the corners it looks very good.

i only used stealth bulbs in the back, i think it makes the front look to monochrome. im thinking red for the front, but i broke a bulb and so have to go get another one.
