Take it off yourself. Took me like 5 minutes. But if you want the holes filled in, thats your call.

To do it properly..they need to be welded...and primed, inside and out...then the trunk needs to be painted..and blended into the quarter panels.....

any body shop. probably not cheap, i'd say a couple hundred but i forget. it was enough that i never did it. you could maybe get some filler stuff put in and cheap paint...but to really make it look good they'll have to fill, sand, and repaint the whole trunk as far as i know, so it's not cheap.

but yeah, google it and take them off yourself. fishing line, dental floss, hair dryer...whatever, it's not hard, just be patient so you don't scratch the trunk like i did (although if you getting the holes filled it won't matter what you scrape). actually, if you're going to get the holes filled, just have a shop do all of it, no reason to save them 5 minutes by debadging yourself.

if you going to remove them, paint them and put them back on...THAT you can do yourself easily.

sigh......

I did some math and you might as well get a cf or fiberglass truck and paint it. That's what I am going to be doing.

/\ it's a good idea, then you still have the stock trunk to sell or whatever.

i was quoted $800 by a very good shop.

its cheaper to get an aftermarket hood, especially a used one for $300-400. then get it painted for $300-400.

and then you can sell your stock one. $200?

Has anyone here tried the whole covering the holes with small pieces of tape and using touch up paint on the tape method?

stick something in them... or go the opposite way and have something coming out of them, like zip ties
