Custom Tail Lights?

Anyone tried fitting Series II tail lights to a Series I?... Haven't seen it done, are they different dimensions?

Also trying to find some custom alternatives to the factory units. Can't seem to find any decent ones.

These are on a previous post...

... but they look awful

Well you fail at search. Series 2 tailights require some bodywork to fit. It's been done though. Check clearcorners.com for some custom lights. Those are what I want.

Yeah, already checked out the ones at clearcorners.com. They look good, but are still very similar to stock.

Was just wondering if there are any available with a completely re-engineered look.

BTW. I have done quite a bit of searching, but i'm just drawing a blank

You'll need to get a new rear bumper from a series-II car as well. I don't remember anyone trying to fit that to the earlier car... may be a pain. But if you pull it off, post pics
