Love the Ws7 badges i was looking at buying a Ws6 for the longest time before i ended up buying my Rx8. Anyways glad to see someone takes an interest in giving us some aftermarket badges, just make sure they will cover holes!

damn, rough crowd here... someone finally steps up and says, yea ill make custom rx8 badges for under 60 bucks. The point is.. if you want an aluminum cut block custom made, prepare to spend a ton of money, and look for hours online for a company willing to do it. If you want nice professional made emblems go here. Check around with all the companies you want, im not out of line saying this, i did my research for the past three months. Anyway, hope everyone finds what theyre looking for

Kane,

It's all size based at that point. Will you be providing an EPS file or just a scanned drawing?

These just look like a bad knock-off compared to the RE Gear badge..

Well they are a cheaper knockoff, but it was a customer who requested them to do it. The RE emblems are CNC'd and cost around $200, and you can't even get them anymore. I think this is a much cheaper alternative.

Third shift uses a laser, which is faster than CNC routing but it's not as versatile. It does allow you to get the design you want for much cheaper. I can guarantee that if you wanted a machine shop to make a set of emblems that looked as good as the RE ones it would cost easily $300-500.

So people, look at the cost of this work! You can get a set of completely custom emblems for a good price, with a good quality of work. If you want perfect looking ones, be prepared to pay 2-3x as much as you would for a set of laser cuts from Third Shift.

The RE Gear emblem is actually about $125, I don't know where you got $300-500 from?

Thanks for the support! like i said, that RE emblem is top notch man. i doubt it's CNC'd. probably molded and poured, then chromed. We just can't do that.

Hey about the other post regarding the RE gear emblems. They arnt 125, theyre 265 dollars (28,360 yen). When they came out you had to be a member of their "club". Now they are done producing them completely and cant be ordered unfortunately. Emailed them when I first starting looking for emblems I had to go back and check the response I got from them.

They weren't 125, they were 2-300, depending on whether you got silver or gold plated. $300-500 would be the cost if you had another machine shop make you a set of custom emblems that were the same quality as the RE gear ones.

OK, so we are limited by technology to using flat emblems.

What can we do to make the flat emblems we CAN make, to give them a more 3d feel?

I really like the design third shift is offering, but it just feels too flat. Especially when I look at the RE emblems. It also would look wrong when on the back of the car with the standard mazda and RX-8 branding, they wouldn't match. Of course, my plan is to make those go away too.. perhaps we can get some "Renesis" and "Rotary Experimental 8" badges to replace the stock branding?

First let me say that 28,360 is about $250 and second that price is for a set (F+R). If you wanna buy a single, it will cost you $125. You guys can go on and on about how it's made and so on.. But, the price is $125 for a single and $250 for a set.

The bigger point is that they are no long available. Sure they were a good deal when they were made, but they were a limited run.

i 2nd that we need something to cover up the block mazda logo on the rear bumper. Id like to get rid of all the emblems and have just one thing in the lower left. I thought about moving the RX-8 to cover where the mazda block would have gone, but i dont think itll cover the holes.

I think that you'd do REALLY well making RX8Club.com emblems, now that PoLaK isn't selling vinyls anymore...
