Clear Corners

I went to an RX8 meet yesterday and almost everyone had clear corners. They all had the same kind though, and i didnt really like it. The ones they had bulge out to the sides. Are there clear corners EXACTLY like the stock yellow ones, and not ones that are sized differently? If so, where can i get the and how much.

Those are the exact clears that come on the 8, stock , in other countries. Flat ones that mirror our orange ones would have to be something from an aftermarket vendor. Personally I view our orange ones as aftermarket, compared to the OEM clears where our cars were built (Japan)

You'd probably have to get them custom made. The clear corners that bulge out are japan stock. MNAO did their own thing when they put those orange sidemarkers.

Just a guess, but It could be that both the orange and the clears are trademarked by their respective manufacturer. That's why they differ in design slightly, as not to infringe on each others trademark or copywrited design.

the stock orange ones dont bulge out at all, and i like how that keeps the lines of the car/fenders smooth.

Well, seeing as i dont like the orange stock corners that come with the car, and i probably dislike the JDM clearcorners even more, i wanted to get the same exact shaped corners in clear as the stock ones. It turns out i cant find them anywhere. I think im going to have to custom fab these myself. If anyone knows where i can get corners that sit flush with the fenders, please tell me, otherwise im going to make my own (ill probably do that anyway). Well, when im done ill try to post pics.

If you check the front wing, the buldge actually flows into what I thought was a dent in my wing. There is a slight crease just above the clear corner. Only spotted it when fitting my INGs bumper and had never noticed the clear corners had a buldge until I took them off.

Something I've always wondered, in the US do the 'clear corner' lights come on when you put the side lights on (i.e. first position before xenons come on) Also do they act like in UK when you indicate they come on?

Yes they illuminate once the parking lights are activated - first click on the light wand. The headlights do not have to be turned in on order for the side markers to illuminate.

I'm not clear on this question, but you may be asking if they 'blink' when you have your turn signal on? If that is your question, no, our corners do not blink w/the blinker.

Thanks for the answers.

Yes my second question was about blinking when turn signal on. Think its a UK requirement to have 'side repeaters' as they are called.

I love the OEM japanese clear corners....that was the first real mod I did to the car...to me there really isnt that much difference in the look....I really wanted to get rid of the amber so the clear was a great improvement...even if they are shaped a little different...
Shinks :D

I purchased my clear corners from Rotary Extreme, and I certainly dont regret it. Something about orange lights on a VR 8 that doesnt look right.

you make it sound like they protrude 6 inches off the car. they only slightly stick out and can't see aftermarket vendors making them differently for this slight bulge.

LOL, in both of these pictures above you cant really see how and where they bulge out. Can on of you 2 post a head on pic from the front end of the car, but pretty much only show the bulge? Anyway, it seems you guys have different clear corners than i have seen before. There are many pics on the forum with people that have the ones that stick out a LOT. I was at a NORTHEASTERN club meet, and we took pics. Check that part of the site for pics on the clear corners.

Check the clear corners on the black 8 to the right. THe pic isnt very good, but you can see it sticks out quite a bit.

An inch is a lot,... looked at a ruler lately?

From just estimating mine, I would say they stick out about .5 cm
