Clear sideamarker installation and new deals
Hello guys, we just picked up our Project RX-8 tonight and we put on the clear sidemarkers right away. The installation is very simple. All you need is a philips screw driver and a socket ratchet.
1. Use the philip screw driver to take off the pop-in plastic rivets. You can only need to take the top two off.
2. You can see the 8mm head bolt that secures the sidemarker
3. Take off the bolt and slide the sidemarker backward
4. Unscrew the light bolt socket
5. Screw the light bolt socket into the clear sidemarker and put it back the reverse way.
The reflector pattern inside the clear sidemarker is different from the stock one. It looks a lot better.
If you trade in your stock ones, I will give you $20 off, as long as your stock ones are in brand new condition.

I know in some States, it's not legal to have other color of lights than orange so you might have to get the tinted orange bulbs to replace the stock one.
Check with your local authority to see if this is necessary. Ask a police office and he might know since he is the one that gives ticket for that.

I assume you need to get the yellow bulb replacements since you are going with the clear marker, correct?

Now that sounds like a plan! Any chance you know what is the type of orange bulb we need?
Will you do a cross ship or something and honor the $20 off? Seeing as I cant send in my stock marker until I receive the new clears..

Well guys... based on your posts, we have 11 who have expressed interest if we can get them for $100 - $120. Perhaps the moderators can put up a sign up sheet or something. Here's a list of those interested so far. (By the way, I am getting this list from the previous posts. If your name is on here, it's just becasue you expressed interest. I'm not claiming that you are 100% agreed. Also, this by no means inclusive, and some of you may no longer be interested, so don't flame me for trying to get a preliminary head count!:D ) 1. MrWigggles 2. BRx8 3. frogzapper
4. ELX13 5. Ron-Jeremy 6. Mantisflie 7. RX-Nut 8. RX-8 Zoomster
9. tpryor 10. brothervoodoo (if at $100) 11. highspeed 8
Anyone else?? We need what 30? 1/3 of the way there!:D

Bulb
Here is the bulb for the sidemarker
I am sure you can find an orange one at your local autoparts store. I will find the exact part number for you guys ASAP.
I can't post any advertising/commercial info on the forum at this time. I am sure everything will work out very soon.

Here is the picture of the bulb:
You can find the orange one from your local autoparts store.
$120 is the cheapest it will go and if you trade in yours, you get the $20 back so it's $100 which is already 50% off list price. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I am trying to make this as cheap for you guys as possible.

I am sorry. I was busy for the whole week so I haven't got time to check on the exact part number for the bulb. I will do that today.
Just go to the website and you will see all the info.

I remember an earlier post for a silver bulb that flashed amber -- perfect for the clear side markers -- I think the website was:

He's already said the lowest he will go is $120. Then if you send in your orange stock, he will give you $20 back. Apparently he's marked them down as low as he possibly can.
The way I see it is if you dont wanna pay $120 now, you can wait for others brands to come out that may be cheaper. He did say however, these clears were made by the same company that makes the stock orange. FWIW.
Sorry if I offended, just repeating what he said...

Hello Chuck Huang,
It seems we already have a sizeable group, I would recommend we do it now before others lose interest. As time goes by you may gain some and then lose some.
So it seems the deal is $120 and if we return "unmarked - like new" yellows markers, we get a $20 rebate back.
So, how do you want us to do this? Do we go to your website and indicate we are from rx8forum.com?
Let us know the process to order, thanks.
