Are chrome rims played out?Chrome Rims or Black Rims
#26
Go polished or silver/pewter paint. Black makes you look like a wanna-be and chrome is ghetto. Might as well do spinners if your gonna do chrome.
20's look a bit silly on a dropped 8. 19's are not going to improve your performance any either, stay with 18's. Park next to a normal car and your 18's will look huge already anyway.

I went black along with red calipers. I have the same exact package as you...red/black interior.
Oh...and I know the third pic is photo-chopped, but I just love it anyways.

Bummed, but bring on OU!
must be 6-7inches of ground clearance. ^
this is why I think 20's look funny. Reminds me of those 80's Caprices rolling on 24s. But, it's not my car, and if you like it then who am I to criticize.

why don't you just get both and put them in to one?
its called black chrome haha, a few brands have it but its $$$ but looks really sweet though. 5zigen's hyper 5zr's come in that finish and they are real head turners.

yeah, the zigen's way a lot though so that probably dismisses them from a lot of people's choices/lists. I'd really like to see someone go ***** out and snag some O.Z superleggra's or some nice BBS wheels, haven't seen too many of that yet.

either way screw OZ and bbs, if you want to see go ***** out i'd say go for some chrome 19 inch HRE's now that is the best mix of performance and bling.

adding a kit will reduce the ground clearance, but the tyre/guard gaps are still too big

I'd also be curious to see some Iforged, GFG, or some Jline's as well, I love Volk's and all, just tired of seeing them on EVERYthing...

WOW someone is finally tired of seeing volks on EVERY SINGLE rx8, 350z, and g35!
i forge, gfg, bbs, hre, ccw is cool and all but my beef its its euro and im not big into having japanese wheels on european cars and european wheels on japanese cars and the same for most parts.

eh...don't really care about all that, I don't consider CCW euro at all, especially since alot of the Spec Rx7 guys run them due to their weight, not to mention tons of vipers, vettes, mustangs, supras, none of which I consider euro. I guess if if you were really picky about the euro thing, maybe Hamaan's or AMG, Lorinser etc. might not be what you're looking for. BBS lookalikes were also on many a 2nd gen Rx7 so I don't really think of those as euro myself. Either way, I like stuff I don't see all the time, and things that are uncommon. Sure I could have had Volk's/whateever painted etc. but then I"d have the same thing everybody else does and that would drive me nuts. I'd rather see a stlye that looks killer that is uncommon than go with the crowd any day. and that's all I was trying to point out.

yeah thats true but overall those brands tend to cater to the euro crowd and high end imports/domestics. im not saying that a lot of people who drive domestics/imports don't use them(or that theres anything wrong with it) its just the style and the majority of buyers are eurotuners. amg hamanns, lorinser, breyton, m/// etc obviously are very odd to put onto a japanese car and most people would probably agree
also the GTX models of the FC got real BBS's not lookalikes, probably only a few japanese cars had bbs wheels stock. VW has bbs's on thier stock cars(usually an option) and BMW has always been affiliated with BBS, their great track wheels imo, but they are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

yup, good point on that, wasn't sure if the GTX had real bbs or not, thanks for the info.

yeah they're pretty sweet rims to have if you own an FC. the RX-7 convertables have the BBS wheels too(but im not 100% sure if those ones are real) but either way they are good looking lightweight strong wheels(the best stock rims that came with the second gen)
