That is a really cool FIBERGLASS made to look like carbon fibre trunk.
Here is a good rule of thumb. If you look at a carbon fibre product and say "hey, that is reasonably priced, I could afford that" It is not carbon fibre.

 

What is the purpose of carbon fiber hoods, trunks, door panels, etc. . .
Is this some sort of attempt to reduce the car weight to improve 1/4 mile times or something?? I see all Honda kids with this stuff and it just makes the car look like it was built from pieces obtained from the local junk yard.

 

CF is supposed to be used for weight reduction. Since the 8 has a aluminum hood already, there is a very minimal weight loss involved, so it is pretty much just for cosmetic use on the 8.

 

if its not real CF.. dont bother.. thats my opinion...
