Tony- Outstanding- I really like this look, Man if you could find a supplier and pre cut the pieces to sell- you could easliy count me in as a customer.
BTW the reason I dont like the new Thunderbird is precisly because of the cheesy looking plastic Chrome grill. The 8's doesnt' stand out that much- but this mod is right on the money.
Please keep us updated on availability of the raw material.

Power!!
Looks Sharp. I especially like the idea of covering the small oil coolers next to the fog lamps. I've noticed the cooling fins are very thin and bend like paper. I imagine this would help keep some of the bigger chunks off the road from beating up the radiators.

thanks for the caddi pic. ANy update on this material?
Also did you have to remove the front bumper?
In NYC we have to have the front plate- I would get ticketed all the time parking on the street. Do you thinnk this mod is still worth doing if you have to have the front plate?

I actually got a chance to see this mod in person over the past weekend, and I have to give Tony props. It looks very nice, specially on the Titan. If by any chance you can get more of this mesh, PM me.

This is what I'm going with...
http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/...&storeId=10101
yeh it's $65 bucks but it's a large enough piece to be able to do the front air dam, oil screens and cut the "fake" mesh out of the rear bumper and replace it with the real stuff..

Hey XeRo... that's not a bad idea at all. If you can't get the Cadillac mesh, that stuff looks good too. Show us some pics when you're done.
Cutting out the fake rear bumper mesh is something that crossed my mind too... Are you going to just cover the front middle grill like Tony Orlando, or are you going to replace it like adrian-1?

This is one I'm looking at, they have wire mesh grills for various cars. Not the RX-8, but I may be able to fenagle a suburban grill or something of that size to fit my Titan.
I also looked at the JC Whitney and that's on my potential list also. Let me know how it turns out.

Actually..i'm not going to do anything to the wide opening in the middle yet...i'm going to see how it looks first without it, I am more concerned with the oil coolers and doing the bottom air dam opening...if it looks too goofy then I'll REMOVE the original grill and replace it with the mesh...if it's left there it looks like a half *** job...no offense to anyone.,.just my opinion..

No offense taken, but I'd hesitate to say it looks "half-***" without seeing it in person. You can't see my stock grill unless you take a picture of it with a flash, or shine a light through it.

i mean "half ***" in my mind...it would bother "me" if I left it on...if i remember correctly doesn't the middle grill unscrew from the rear of the bumper?
