If you look under your side-views, there are little punch out pieces of plastic. Mazda offers these lights in other countries, and basically shaz reproduces them for us

That punch out will be replaced with a clear lens and behind it goes a holder for the light.

Normally the directions are so you wire them when interior lights come on. But you could wire them to do whatever you want. You just tap into different wires behind the fusebox. You of course would need to do the research as to what wire was for what.


But I can't see why you want them on at any other time. Would be distracting to other drivers and seems odd to want them on with a switch or something.

I don't have them. I just happen to know a lot about them because I was going to buy some months ago but the group buy didn't go through. I have the .pdf manual for installation and everything.

But most everyone (if not absolutely everyone has them wired to come on when the door lights are on)

If you wire per the instructions, then they will come on whenever your door courtesy lights come on..............so this would include unlocking the car(but door closed).

i love mine i didnt buy them from here i just a few extra white LED blocks and i fixed them on the little punch out and they are ridiculously bright everyone loves them and it is quite annoying that ours didnt come with them when every freaking american car i see has them only japanese imports dont ahve them i feel like seeing them adn they are quite helpful to for the mrs. they live up to the puddle light name i will say and they are very very easy to instal just take off the door panel takes the longest it just splices right in to the oem courtesy lights and your done very clean look i think there is a DIY on this site too to do it
