Autoexe

Anybody know what material the Autoexe front bumper is made out of?

Another question is if the Autoexe front bumper allows for the use of the stock re-bar?

Hmmm how is this fibreglass different than the fibreglass that we associate with replica kits?

I currently own a MP3 and the Autoexe lip is made out of urethane which is much better than fibreglass i assume....

I just dont want to spend a big chunk of $$ and have the bumper crack in small accidents or whatnot...

always go with urethane when ever possible...urethane will never crack..and if you do hit something (minor hits) it will retain its shape..the only downside to urethane is that over time they tend to sag because of it warping...

thats what im saying.... but to my knowledge the Autoexe bumper is made out of some special fibreglass and i was wondering how it stacks up against ABS plastic or urethane.

and also im still unsure if the Autoexe front bumper retains the use of the stock re-bar?

The AutoExe front, and rest of the kit for matter, is made for high grade Japanese fiberglass, better that what you find in replica kits. As for the front bumer beam, it will need to be removed as there is no prevision for it in Japan since they don't have the huge crash beams we have here in the US. You'll also need to remove the rubber boots around the oil coolers for it to fit with out cutting.

Awwww crap............. the stock re-bar has to be taken off?!

there goes my idea of getting the bumper then......... first of all its illegal to be without the re-bar and secondly i dont want to risk my life in a head on collision...

How much diference does it make in an accident wether or not you have the stock re-bar? Does anyone know? Is it more of an issue with safety or with the amount of damage the car will get?

Thanks

Todd

the re-bar is there to absorb and take the force from say a head on collision...........so if you dont have the bar and you get into a head on collision guess who takes the bulk of the impact?

YOU!
