Thumbs up anybody seen this steering wheel b4 and where to get it??

AutoExe RX-8 steering wheel.. it looks like you can have it your steering wheel wrapped to red leather (maybe other colours??) and also in suede.
i like the bigger thumbrest and the fact it makes the steering wheel little more bulky for better grip.. (like those in bmw m3 :D )
anybody know whether we can get this in Australia??

here are pics.

It's just a steering wheel cover, not much chop IMO.

hey zephyr, this is not australian version of rx-8. (probably japanese) u can see the sat-nav to the left :D . maybe they can have option not to have cruise control.. if i had a choice and it means less cost, I rather not have it either... mainly city driving.

I have black and white (CORRECTION: black/red 2 tone) steering wheel

There is a Autoexe distributer in Hong Kong right boyboydan. Used to be called GT sport and they have changed name to Super GT or something.

BoyBoyDan you can sus it out for playa78 if convinence for you and I can bring it back for you. I am coming to Sydney for conference on 11 March.

Sound like a good plan if you want the cheapest way to do it.

Otherwise, go in to a good mod shop run by an Asian - they will have contact to get one for you too

Otherwise go to Japan - the good old japanparts.com or jt-import.com

It will make the steering wheel very thick though... are you sure about this playa.

You must have big hands :D

They look great though. Not sure about the swede ones.

I really like the look of the suede one.

Hey Taka & Boyboydan, is it easy to put on? Do you have to take the horn cover or control panel covers off?

No idea. I suppose they just cover the stock one, my guess is it is not hard. How is your sewing skill?

They look nice, I'm tempted to get one. But only if I know I can get it on myself and have it look seemless. Curious as to how the back part looks once it's on too.

I find the stock wheel is just the right thickness but then again, my hands aren't huge. Also couldn't live without cruise on the freeway (that is, my licence couldn't)!

What got my attention in the second photo Playa78 posted was the handbrake. I've always found the rubbery guarded handle a bit naff. Does anyone know whether the handle in the photo is aftermarket or just stock in other countries?

Brake handle is aftermarket. Made by Autoexe.

Let me find the link in this site.

There it is.

I am a bit unsure about the plano black bit, but it is real leather. Very nice. I think it is about $200. Then again, Mazda charge much more in their half leather handbrake in their accessories menu

Cheers Taka.

Not a priority at the moment (still saving up to make Hymee richer) but I'll file that one away for when I get around to prettying up the interior.

if you are out to change the handbrake, I think this one look much cooler.
autoexe one is too old school for my liking.

this one is from Shane Racing in US. enjoy eyecandy

Damn, you've made me feel old playa78 'cause I much prefer the autoexe look. Really, I prefer the handbrake to be unobtrusive, rather than look like Luke Sykwalker's blaster handle! Each to their own though - be boring if we all liked the same things.
