robertdot i am sorry but it is not the same kit as the black mr-T up kit. If you look at the center of front bumper you can see the black one has a flat close surface where as the red one has air opening. Now what i am interested in is who is coping who on this kit. I love the autobahn kit. My question is about the wheels where can i get more information on them?( i am kind of slow)

First of all, I think robertdot means the OTHER black 8... there were some pictures of this same kit on a black 8... Japan8 started a big ol thread on it with lots of info. As for the wheels, the information is on page 1 thanks to ypwpat... they're made by RAYS engineering, under A/X. They're called Griffony. The site is here... http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/

The black 8 roberdot is talking about is the original AU-TO Bahn 8 with the mirrors and TrafficStar RTS wheels. Look on pg 2 of the posts in the bodykit section and it should be there... or just the magical search button that no one bothers with. The rims on the black 8 at Riverside TrafficStar RTS.

Last edited by Japan8; 08-04-2004 at 06:01 PM. Reason: My bad on the rims... I took it to mean the black 8, not the red 8

That red RX-8 belongs to someone on this forum. I can't remember the name, but I do remember his/her webpage was freaky and gave me seizures.

Hi D'mix
Thanks for your post and sorry for my late "hello".
I was surprised that you were a member of the R3.
Have you seen the owners map of R3 on R3 site ( pics BBS ) which I made?
I visited your site and enjoyed pics of your pretty cool car.
Sometime, If you come to the R3's meet of Tokyo, that we will be able to meet, I hope....

First RX-8 Owner of this "famous"club....haha

D'mix ... do you have the AutoBahn fender vents on your ride? If so, do you also have fender strakes? If so, how were they mounted? Are they MAZDA OEM? Were they modified to fit the vent?

Thanks for any insight.

Tokyo is far though I want to meet you, too.

It is the new product of AU-TO BAHN SPORTS.

No problem ... your English is better than my Japanese

Yes ... the new vents from AU-TO BAHN SPORTS that mount behind the front wheel. There is a picture of the vents with strakes here:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-exterior-appearance-body-kits-27/cf-fender-vents-40358/page4/

Since the car in the picture is red I thought it might be yours. Is it? We are wondering if the strakes that are attached to the vent are the original MAZDA strakes. We also want to know if they had to be modified to mount there ... if so, how were they modified and mounted?

Hope this makes sense.

Vents

Yes.This photograph is my car.
Vents is sold under the condition with being seen.
These new articles are exchanged for Vents which a car has been equipped with since the beginning.

How to install it is easy. After first it is put by both surface adhesive tape.
The nail which Vents is equipped with is bent behind fender.
The body and Vents are fastened at the end with the union cable from Fender.
Processing of the body is unnecessary.

A hole is made in Vents, and strakes is fastened with the bolt.
Original MAZDA strakes is the same as the way of equipping it.

Is it the answer which you are hoping for?

That's what we were looking for. Thank You very much.

Did they grind down the bottom strake to make it fit flush? Or did they use two top strakes. It looks like two top strakes maybe. Do you know?
