Anyone have MS Style kit?
I was looking to pickup a Mazdaspeed kit for my 8, but paying over $1500 for a kit is a lot of money for a 18 year old student like me at this time. I've been looking at the MS Style kits on ebay which run for around $850-$900 shipped, however, those who have got this said that the kit does not fit that well, so I was wondering if anyone has bought this kit and has pictures and information on their experience with the kit.
When I think about it, if I pay $900 for the kit, and then around another $300-$400 to get the kit painted, it will come out around the same price as getting the real Mazdaspeed kit won't it?
What's your suggestions?

if your not 1st your last
probably one way or another you will pay the same price at the end
unless you are that close with a bodyshop i recommend a ebay kit
try looking at a urethane kit it seems like there is more luck there.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying, a kit like this

However, it's strange that we need to find our local grey hound bus station and that's the way he sends the kit. Never done that before. Free shipping and insurance is $50 so it'll be $800 shipped and then I'd have to go pick it up. Be around $400 to paint and then from what I'm reading around $600-$700 to install. That's about $1900 painted and installed for the fake Mazdaspeed kit, that's so much money...

It was said before... either go for the real thing or don't do it at all. Besides not having to paint it, the Mazdaspeed kit will fit perfectly and you might be able to install it yourself - whereas those eBay kits will likely require additional fitment work and labor will drive up the final price.
Of course if you know someone in a body shop and they will install it for you for a killer price, that changes the calculation quite a bit.
Also, I would definitely get a urethane kit and no way would I install a fiberglass one. Atr least the one in that auction is made of urethane...

I doubt you will get a quote of 300-400 for install and paint on the fake MS fiberglass kits. More like 1000 once the hours it takes to fit the dang thing, and prep time needed, it sinks in.

This is not a fiberglass kit, it is a Urethane kit. I was saying $400 for paint, and around $600-$700 for installation. So $800 for kit, $1100 for paint and install, $1900 final price painted and installed.
With the real Mazdaspeed kit though, don't you need to cut out of the stock rear bumper? With this kit, is seems as though you just replace the whole rear bumper.

my advice.. get the real thing set it and forget it.
since ur 18 student. u prob goto college.. just enjoy the fact u have an RX8 and keep it stock wait til u graduate and see what u can do then! 4 years is not a long time to wait, youll be suprised how quick it will come.
one more thing if you are in college use the money for more constructive things like spring break and other fun events..
thats my 2cents....

Save your money and get the real thing. ~$2700 for the same parts, painted, hardware, ready to go. You can easily install it yourself.
No headaches, no misery, in a weekend you'll be ready to rather than waiting for weeks for a body shop to correct the inevitable flaw a knock-off kit will have.
