1. The UK model has the white styrofoam over the central section, and two bits at the corners of the impact bars. So there are three bits in all.
2. I had to remove the central styrofoam section to enable the bumper to go on, with the grills they supplied. I didn't look to see if the styrofoam could be left in place if I cut the grills down.
a) Is the styrofoam section the 'rebar' you are referring to, or is it the metal section behind this styrofoam?
b) I had imagined this styrofoam was only there to add extra padding between the bumper and the body - and to stop it vibrating. Does it peform any other useful purpose?
Cheers,
Barry

That white styro bar is what is being dubbed the rebar, though I think the entire thing is actually the rebar (big metal(?) thing behind the white styro). At any rate, it serves some function, as it is required in the US. I'm not sure if it is the same as in the UK, as I've never had my front bumper off. The styro rebar is not on the JDM versions, AFAIK, so it doesn't necessarily serve a non-vibration function (or, at least, that is not an important function).
The kit looks good, though. Did you put it on yourself, or did a body shop do it?

The styrofoam is now sat in my garage, it seems fairly flimsy, not going to do much in an impact, maybe at slow speed it will recoil a bit, but in a major impact it is just going to compress and colapse. I can take some photos of it.
Put it on myself with the help of a friend, thought we'd try as the instructions for removal and replacement looked simple - it was really. Thought I'd save some money and fit it properly myself once it comes back from the spray shop.

Yes, it came with the kit. Just sprayed it matt black at the weekend.
Dropped the bumper off at the dealers, should be back from the bodyshop within a week. Side skirts being fitted this Thursday, so only another couple of weeks and it will all be done! (For now!)

Whoa, the Ings RX-8 has to be the best looking car i've seen in a while!
shelleys_man_06 - Uhhhh Ings started out making kits for the Integra, then the RSX and Nissans and then the RX-8.....And who cares? IMO it still looks good.

Original Turbo 'd Auto !!
love the eye candy! This (Ings) is the only wife approved kit that will go on my car once I get the money. Also nice rims.
I didn't realize that the grills came with the kit. Cool, now I dont have to find one that fit.

Sweet! now only if i have a gran or 2 to get me the INGs or the AU-TO Bahn STrasse front. Maybe in a year or two. The appearance package havent grown old on me yet and the RX8 still turns head eventhough people see it twice or trice per day.
Cant wait to see it painted!

I found the complete kit in the hybrid aero material at japanparts.com for $1891.86 without shipping. Has anyone had any experience with this company? If so what did you think of them?

i bought side markers from them on ebay. It got here in like 5 days from japan. Others said they had problems with them. I think shipping is going to be a lot. vivid sold it for like 2100.

Unless they have existing stock its going to take a while as INGs build to order, I had to wait 10 weeks for delivery to UK distributer. The shipping added about $300 to the price.
Hybrid is the way to go.
