So my friend was messing around and showed me this picture he quickly put together on photoshop. I'm not sure where he got the actual picture of the 8 from so if it's someone on the forums....sorry :l?

Anyway, not sure I'd be willing to go this route myself, but has anyone seen any 8's that only have the suicides painted a different color like this?

Here is drawing I did awhile back while figuring out paint schemes for my R3 which is turning into a track car. I've pondered this same idea--

 

2/10 would not bang. Headlights too shiny, fuel cap too round. Way too clean overall.

Seriously though, not a fan of the black door.

Hmm ya, thanks for the drawing geswek. Seeing it with that much clarity makes me think it's not quite for me after all...
That said, I don't think it's ugly (wouldn't have brought the idea to the table otherwise), heck maybe it's just the color combo that's throwing me off. might look great with *cough* silver.


perhaps one day when I have oodles of free time and moxy I'll plasti dip it to see how it looks. At least that way it's easily peeled off :P

also interesting. The one thing I think I may take from that are the painted skirts. Actually now I'm curious to see if there's an 8 with a blacked out edges along the bottom like that, maybe a little thinner though

 

That's horrendous, just leave it with the same color...just my .02 cents

 

It will look like you gut a door off another car and cant afford to get it painted. We see busted *** cars with that scheme often... most usually old camrys

 

Have seen a few with cf rear doors unpainted. And one or two with this scheme I'll try to source pics of them.

 

These aware the one I saved on my phone when looking for paint scheme ideas and all thought they were different.

 

My black coupe has grey doors but then again she doesn't have an engine so I guess it doesn't matter

 

is the second last one (and obviously the last one) White or silver? It looks white but not quite sure. It may be because there's a lot more black than just the door, but I actually don't think it looks too bad on that one. Not sure it would look as good on VR though :L

 

Last three are silver two different cars

 

Doesn't scream "POSER" any less than LED strips on headlights, Ferrari (or any super car make) badges, and Turbo badges on an NA RX-8.

Did some mockups of A black 8 with a silver/white door. Thought it would be cool if the alternate color went around the roof to connect the two suicide doors. Thinking about painting my 2007 like that, kinda has an audi r8 feel.
