I don't think it looks rice at all. Chip Foose done the same thing to a Ford Thunderbird on the show Rides (except it wasn't made of chrome wheel well moulding, but achieved the same result). I also seen a similar design on some Jaguars. Does that mean these two are rice too? IMO I think it's classy and sets apart from a regular RX-8.

lol!!!! everyone says rice, but what is rice?! i just got 2 definitions..... pretty and pretty ugly! BUT if you don't like it, does that mean no one should do it? lololololol... some people here in the forum must have been picked on as a child because alot of this is uncalled for and is just pure spite!
the following picture is of my aluminum mats... i installed it bec. i gave my car 3 to 4 hps!! hahahahaha! not really, i put it in cause i like the way it looks just like anything else i do to my car! ricey or not!!
i am a pinoy (filipino-american), if i want to make my car look "ricey" then so be it!!

Okay, all of you stop it now. Get rid of ALL the offensive comments, racist and homosexual alike. Those that don't remove their comments get warnings, followed by a 3 day leave of absence on the next offense. Next personal attack I see also gets a warning. I'm not sure what makes any of you think that using words like "gook" or "****" is at all okay, but you need to think before you type. If this crap isn't out of here within a few hours of this post and I have to remove it, I'm NOT going to be happy.

Does that stuff bend?
The wheel well molding....must bend easily? I was thinking maybe I can do that effect on the grille from the X Men car...the two shapes on each side of the grille. Think that would work??

Hmm... I dont know if it will bend that much though. I have some in my car and just looked at it, but I am not sure how tight you would need the shapes to be. Although it certainly is a possibility.

I'm wary of extra flashiness on my '8, but this mod does look pretty good (regardless of how it was accomplished). I think a brushed aluminum finish would look pretty good too.
