Is this a replica of the Tsunami kit or is this the original kit sold thru a new distributor? The replica Mazdaspeed kit has thrown me off...

The Mazdaspeed style was molded off the original hard plastic parts reinforced and braced so they could be molded properly and replicated in flexible Urethane.

The TSUN style parts are actually cast from the original Tsunami molds. Many of the original Tsunami molds were given to a manufacturer we've had a long relationship with. Tsunami was nice enough to allow them to sell us parts. So these parts will have the same fitment as the original as they are cast from the original Tsunami molds, just injected with urethane from a new manufacturer. The urethane quality/finish is very good as you can see from the pics. We have them in the showroom here in Las Vegas if anyone local would like to check it out hands-on.

Usually manufacturers won't copy the same style when it comes to urethane just because of the expensive tooling costs to create the mold. Unlike fiberglass the urethane molds are very expensive to make and most manufacturers won't see a profit until they sell 40 pieces, so to copy a pre-existing urethane part usually just isn't profitable enough to warrant the investment in tooling costs to create the mold. It does happen sometimes but it's pretty rare.

Thanks for clarifying, I noticed a new manufacturer name has been attached to every recent photo I've seen of the Tsunami kit. I plan on purchasing a new aftermarket bumper in the next couple days. The only kits I would install would be the authentic Mazdaspeed or Tsunami based on fitment reviews I've read over the years.
Are you offering any deals for RX8club members?

I'd be more concerned about the flexing than it being a knockoff...

Has anyone installed and painted the above rear-fender flares.

They widen the car by 3/4 on each side.

They are beeing sold by KMR and Mazdatrix!

Please help me out, I wanna see how they look painted and installed!

yeah polyurethane/ flexible materials are absolutely disaster to paint let alone keep in good condition. First time you bottom out and it bends all the paint will crack.

If it were fiberglass or CF it would crack the substrate too not to mention the paint. I would rather the bumper flex and destroy the paint than the bumper crack and pieces fall off.
But back to my original idea...it bothers me that these replicas don't have provisions for the bumper to screw into the fender behind the side marker lights! How much longer really would it take to mold this in?!

I did not see the flare on Mazdatrix's site but they do not always show everything. Any links to more info?

Anyone here know of a good place to get a MazdaSpeed like kit for an 04, seems like Extreme Dimenssions is the only one doing it now-a-days but I have heard not so good things about their fitment.

Agreed, I was close to picking up this front a while back and was going to fill the fog light holes.

Duraflex Body Kits

Anyone know how good of quality and fitment a duraflex velocity style 4 piece body kit is? and what your thoughts on it are. I have a 2011 rx8 and was wondering about the vertex lang body kit as well. But was not to keen on the rear bumper and was wondering if anyone knew a website with a variety of separate body parts so i can mix and match brands or at least the rear bumper.

Quick question: In regards to kits, what would be the best material for a DD? Polyurethane or fiberglass, being that these seem to be the only 2 materials I can find kits being made out of as of late?

Also, whats the consensus on the VSaero urethane kits? Worth the money, or can I expect it to be ruined within 6 months?

VSaero = crap. And the best material depends, but if it is a replica, then I can almost guarantee fitment and quality will be ****. The authentic Mazdaspeed kit I have is made of Metton.

Gotcha... So, for the second part of my question, what would be more favorable for a DD, polyurethane or fiberglass?

It all depends on the manufacturer, they all have their secrets. If you drive carefully you should not hit anything. The flex tests and stuff are stupid IMO. If it (poly) flexes, the paint will crack and require repair anyway so what is the point? and generally the fitment is horrible. FRP, Metton, or normal fiberglass can be repaired pretty easily if you do hit something and will take more of a beating. Also , the poly stuff is heavy. My buddy had the original Tsunami (not the copy cat buillshit above) bumper and while fitment was great, it weighed a ton.
