Aftermarket Windshield?
Call some local glass companies to get a price. Most are mobile installers now. The auto dimming mirror increases the cost some. Mine's a PPG & looks stock with a subtle difference in the dot pattern of the shaded area. I swear it pits a little easier than the OEM one, though, but that may be from the track.
People say there's a big difference in quality among the various manufacturers. I got prices from $250 to $400. PPG & Pilkington are supposed to be high quality. Forget which one I got, but I spent a little bit more to get blue tinting at the top--looks good with Phantom Blue.
Call your insurance company, they'll refer you to people they work with. Ask about brands of glass they use. Also check the yellow pages, do some Google searches for "auto glass" + name of your town or zip code. Ask at your local gas station, car dealership. Check with your bartender or your local minister.
Don't know if this could help you, but a friend at a glass shop says that often '2nd quality' windshields are available (to them) real cheap. Whether they sell as 1st quality prices is up to them and their conscience and I suppose depends on the defect and whether it is that visible. I got one of those in a car once for ~$100. It had a 'sag defect' on the passenger side, kind of an optically noticeable line. What what ta hey, it was clear on my side and hella better than the horrible pitted thing they took out.
If you can, I would try to get the OEM glass as there is a big difference in quality between aftermarket brands. Many insurance companies won't want to pay dealership prices though so it may be difficult... Good luck!
I would definitely NOT go to a dealer for this since my understanding is that they will merely have the same type of local mobile guy come do it and add on their extra fee. PPG & Pilkington are supposed to be OEM quality from what I've heard.
I would NOT buy OEM glass, even if it were available, which it isn't.
My original screen chipped, scratched and clouded at the slightest touch, and my new (PPG) is tough as nails.

(I asked my service guy, he said they get a glass company in to do windshields - I asked which one; he just shook his head and told me it was a lowest bid kind of deal and I should find a 'good' shop!)

IIRC, about $300, maybe $350. The dealers just just going to have a glass shop do it for them and charge you extra. Get the yellow pages and make some calls.
