accident need help

Well some a hole in front of me yesterday didn't secure their load and i ended up running it over when it fell out. Unfortunantly i didn't get their license but I called my insurance and they said its covered.

I need a new hood, bumper, oil cooler and some wheel well plastic. Oh and i already got two new front tires. Anyways ive been looking through tons of threads and websites and im having a hard time figuring out where to buy a good body kit. I'm already planning on getting a vis or seibon cf hood. I know knock offs usually dont fit well. I was looking autobahn kits and was wondering if any one had any really good or bad experiences with them.

I will get pics up asap, but my fiance is out of town and has our camera.

Thank you for any advice.

thats why they teach you to always follow atleast two seconds behind the car in front of you. ha ha. okay seriously, with the body kits, there are quite a few places online that you can get some kits and the hoods japanparts.com is highly talked about on here. if you are looking for a replica kit i would not go with anything other than Shine Auto in Cali, great work and the products fit nicely for a replica. i actually have the Autobahn front on my car, and think it looks amazing, i get tons of comments on it. hope this helps

Oh man! Sorry to hear that happened. Arizona has a real problem with that as well. We have tons of landscaping trucks and no laws for securing loads. I cannot tell you how many times I've dodged HUGE crap in the middle of the highway. Tires, industrial equipment, brush, everything.

damn

try local dealers as much as possible. Japan Parts has everything, but shipping is basically the same cost as the kit, so expect to pay a lot. Find out which kit you want then look at their distributors.

I got it the hard way too.

I have MS Front bumper, which I want it for long long time, because I crashed in to an ice bank.

Good luck with your project.

I'm taking my car ro the insurance today. On top of all of this i lost my key last night(of coarse i dint have a spare ) the the tow truck diver shows up with no flat bed . I was under the impresion the 8 needed to be towed with a flat bed so i sent him away and am now waitring again.

Talk about a bad summer. On 5/19 i was in a head on crash on my quad and broke my arm. Two weeks after my surgery i broke it again and bent the plate in my sleep. Then two weeks after my second surgey my gilfriends car gets the window busted out and a bunch of stuff stolen.

If you want something easy ...look at genuine Mazdaspeed stuff...it's a bit more pricey...but it comes painted and fits perfect...something you won't get with most of the other knock offs

I would be concerned that your insurance company might choose to send your car to a body shop to replace the underskirt and wheel well........but only mend the hood and front end instead of replacing it.

And I don't know what damage occurred to the oil cooler, but if that photo shows the damage, EVERY rx8 without an oil cooler protector screen looks like that.....so I'd be concerned the insurance might say no to replacing the oil cooler.

I mean, replacing the hood and front end is mucho expensive...........a little bondo, some sanding, some paint, a little hood pounding = cheap.

Just a word to the wise.

The insurance did say just fix the hood and bumper for now, he put a not on the claim that they may need to just be replaced depending on what the shop I take it to says. I am taking it to my friends shop hopefully next week or the one after.
They also said they would replace the cooler. So for now I have $2242.57 after my dedustable(they cut me a check today ).

Does anyone know of any good aftermarket oil coolers? i've been looking with little success. I'm thinking of just changing both at the same time when I get a new bumper then covering them right away.

Not So; We have very reasonable rates to the 48 States; and have containers leaving every 10-15 days to Long Beach, CA

We arrange clearance and delivery into the 48 States; we'll let you know "how much and how soon" before you commit to buying

i've seen one (very exclusive ) thread about the buddyclub rx8, fitment was good. no modification to the front and sides. unfortuantely, you have to modify or remove the rear impact brace for the back to fit.

i love the front and sides though. i'll go with a fabulous rear though. they are very nice.
