I appreciate the heads up but I really have no idea what happened with yours, really weird.

What kind/ brand paint did you use?
I think i had a ghost in my headlights..because it sucked.

Definitely could have been the paint, I used a high temp engine enamel, maybe the drying time was a little more on it..

Its the offgassing from the paint has nothing to do with overspray. The cure time on the bottle, at least double that. Most high temp enamels have a 24hr green state. I would let it set out for at least two days... Especially since you go and bake the headlight shut, it will also offgas...

Ok its been almost 12 hours since I painted them.... The krylon fusion paint dries very fast and is dry to the touch in 15 mins. I was about to reassemble the housings when I saw your comment about "offgassing". So I just did a quick google and didnt find much about it other than people referring to it when using latex paints in their house and someone mentioned offgassing as just "fumes" (smell) not necessary particles that would stick to a lens. If the headlight is dry, it doesnt seem practical to be that particles can still 'rise off the surface and stick to a lens'. After all of the reading I did last night about krylon fusion and how quickly people put them back together with no issues, and all my past experiences, Im going to have to go with my gut on this one and say it should be ok. His headlight issue really has be stumped. I am still thinking it could be overspray related. The plastic lenses are static charged.... so if hes painting anywhere nearby, any airborn particles are going to be drawn to the lenses from the static like a magnet. Maybe that was not the case, but its the first Ive heard of such an issue if overspray wasnt the cause.

ASSEMBLY TIME!

On the back of the paint can there should be clear disclaimer about the finish and green states. for instance, dry to the touch in 30mins, sandable in 2hrs, completely dry in 12,24 whatever hours, follow the direction on the can you should be fine...

Unless I missed it bro, did you change your projector lens while you were in there? I changed mine a couple months ago and man I would NEVER go back. The output is just night and day difference and really is clear. If I were you I'd do the same as well, just to get it out of the way since you have it open, but you did say you put it back together already..

I'm unsure of how it would turn out on any other color, but it sure looks mean as hell on black! Awesome!

Very very good DIY. That is an excellent video. Bravo!

For a while now I've been thinking of repainting my rims "Stock Silver" to match the stock silver details in the lights. Now that I've seen your video, I now have the option of carrying the gold color, replacing the silver details around the car... which is mostly in the headlights and tail lights. Never thought this was possible.

You have given me this possibility.

Thank you again.
(I've like to link your video inside our BCRX8 club website.)
