194 Signal Marker Bulbs

Just bought clear side markers and intend to follow the DIY thread on it. With the internal reflector removed, which bulb should I get, opaque or clear?

The way I see it, you have reflectors behind your lense to direct light evenly outward. The clear, according to the site, have a light beam forward. I would assume this would be not quite right, as a beam from a source so small, so close to the lense would be dot. The opaque scatters, thus maybe using the reflective background to disperse the light across the lense.

Since I haven't ordered my clear corners yet, and therefore haven't ordered bulbs for them, I am only speculating. Mainly I'm not sure exactly how the beam will act. If it is as sharp as I remember reading, the scattering effect of the opaque might be preferrable.

I would say the opaque is prob your best bet. I have the clear corners and you will find that most 8 owners remove the internal reflector to allow for more dispersion of the amber throughout the whole lense. You want the whole thing to light amber not a part of it.
