wait... eh? Explain please. I think I read about someone doing this, and it causing problems, but im not sure what it is/controls.

Then again, I've read so much crap on here the last few days, I don't really know what to believe and not to believe. I try and find the post MM, yourself, Mawnee, and a few others have created/replied to. Those are the most helpful it seems.

Gonna do that first. It'll look completely stupid and funny because pipe is going everywhere and it's hanging out the hood... I'll get a picture of that one!

So much frustration.... it's time for Back at it tomorrow...if i don't have a hangover that is.

D:
eccentric shaft sensor - it counts the humps on the steel wheel behind the pulley . Long shot but would pay to check that it is firmly mounted and undamaged .

Yes. If you have the MAF limit set to high, when you turn the key to the assessory position, it will throw that code. It went away once I took the MAF limit back to stock.

Wierd - are you talking about the maf table in accessport being rescaled to over 5v ?
Can't imagine why that has anything to do with the ESS .

The bottom limit, not the top.
There is a min val that needs to be set at 2 g/sec or it kinda freaks out and will throw an ESS code or a MAF code.

still idled like junk with the factory intake. i thought i had fixed it when i switched back to my "turbo" intake with an additional screen, because it was idling perfect. then i realized i forgot to plug the maf in. fml.

That should be a big clue right there . Must be MAF related .
did you try the screen AFTER the maf ?

Unplugging the MAF caused it to idle normally?

You have a wiring or ground failure.

Could be.
Also could be the 5v sensor ground on the rad cross-member.
