Hey guys,

Here's a couple of 3rd WOT pulls I did today. It seems to me like I could lean out the map a bit at the upper end. It seems to drop into the 11's above 6000RPM. Thoughts?

(Just so you know I'm NA and have an AP midpipe and BHR coils)

If you were logging Throtte Position that would help a little bit.

You're AFR's need a lot of work, which will require changes to the Fuel VE Table and the Throttle fuel tables.

You need to work on smoothing out the curve before you worry about leaning it out for more power.

I redid your graphs in excel to make them useable.

Kane seemed to think so. I was under a couple of percent error in each area. I'll add throttle position to the log next time.

Ok good.

So what you'll want to do with those logs is select 4-6 data points and get your RPM, AFR, and Calc Load. Then look in your AF Table for the gear you were in and look at your commanded AFR. Calculate the percent difference, then go to your fuel VE table and start making changes.

Take 2-3 logs, if you continue to notice those lean spikes you'll need to correct for those in the Fuel VE table too.

You were still online when we were doing that with my car right?

I went offline just as you started doing yours. I couldn't remember how you did your chart, but I remembered a bit of the info. Do you mind running me how to change my VE tables?

Doubt you guys will make the videos public, but was wondering if there would be future sessions similar to what you guys did?

You're are NA and working off the stock map, ideally I would think you would want to change your target AFR's to better suit the leaner target.

With my map, we started with Kane's base map in which the Target AFR's are already set where he wants them, so we can go straight into adjusting the Fuel VE and Throttle Fuel Tables.

I let Kane chime in on this one, as there are probably steps you need to take before adjusting the Fuel VE table.

I also forgot to mention that I am no longer running a stock tune. I adjusted the timing in the range Kane suggested, as well as leaned out the lower right hand corner of my fuel tables, again, as suggested. I didn't bring them all the way up to RBT, but certainly much closer.

Are you hitting your target AFRs?

Pick a half dozen spots in your log at WOT, and see if you are off, and by how much.

Your scaling was good, so any issues are Fuel VE, or Throttle induced. But we have to compare against your target table to be sure.

That's not actually too bad, the question is what your targets are.

We can smooth that up real nice, but first we need to know the throttle position and the target AFR's from your MAP.

My thoughts on it were like this, NA we are looking for RBT(Rich Best Torque, 12.1 AFR).

On the stock map your targets are not going to be RBT, they are going to be richer.

So before messing with the fuel VE table wouldn't you want to adjust your Target AFR tables?

I will be putting together a video, which I will send to the people who participated in the webinar.

For others interested in the video, we will probably be providing it at a cost, depending on the end result.

Either option is fine. The key is difference from Target, once you are on point, changing your Targets leaner out to RBT is easy.

Ok cool, just wasn't sure.

Guess it's just 2 different ways to get the same end result.

Probably makes more sense to get the Fuel VE map right first so you have your Target and Actual AFR's correspond with each other.

Once that's done you can just change your Targets and everything should be good, right?

It looks to me like my percent error on the AFRs are pretty good. Anything above 4000 I'm only about 2-3% off. Below that I'm seeing 12-22%, but that could be because I was still in closed loop, and I was using the open loop values to do my calculations. What are the criteria as to when it enters open loop?

Throttle, RPM and the like. In WOT don't worry about fuel trims they are always high negative. That is the throttle tip in.

Add VE% to the Fuel VE Map, that will help smooth the lean spot when the APV opens. BUt it will never totally go away.

Correct. You want to splice in hose? That really sucks with the new umbilicals.
