stage 1 kits delivered?

I was just wondering how many people have gotten and installed their stage 1 kit already and did they experience any difficulty with the installation. I think I read somewhere here it'd take 1 to 2 hours, is there an installation manual or so for download? I'm not too skilled so I want to make sure I can do that before I shell out $500.

Of course I'd also love to hear more how much the kit improves performance :-)

Thanks for letting me post this

-Peter

I can't even get this guy to confirm my order. I faxed over my order on Dec. 26th, along with my credit card info, and got no reply. I'm getting nervous. I don't like extending that info to people over the net.

I guess he's really busy, but, to me the most important thing he should be doing is TAKING and CONFIRMING orders. I'm ok with waiting to have my unit shipped, just as long as I know I'm dealing with someone reputable.

I'm keeping an eye on my credit card account over the net, and nothing's been charged to it. However, my credit card number and personal info could be sitting on some fax machine somewheere for anyone to see.

I have now e-mailed him twice and left him a phone message, still with no reply. I'm giving him another day to contact me and if he doesn't, I'm contacting my credit card co. to block any charge from him.

I think my concerns are legit and should be addressed.

It is the holiday season for many, he could be out of town or maybe he is spending quality time with his family after putting in such long hours during the R&D of the product. I would quess his mailbox is overflowing with mail.

True, he may be on some kind of vacation, but my $500 isn't.

I would assume your credit cards aren't being charged until the item has been shipped.

I don't think we have anything to "worry" about with Maurice. I have ordered other RX-8 parts from him, and they arrived safely and at a very good price.

I'm anxious for more information and to receive mine, too, but we have to remember that Maurice has another job that takes up most of his time. This is a side project, and anyone who has read up on this unit must know that. So, don't expect him to be able to devote all of his time to confirming orders like companies that specialize in RX-8 parts, accessories, and tuning can. You're not ordering from such a company, and expectations should be a bit different.

I understand the frustration, but I hope my past experience buying from Maurice, as well as that of many others on this forum, will calm your fears.

Cool Patience...

Please think before you cancel...
He WILL be catching up on his backlog soon...he is an incredibly busy guy, his computer server company business comes first, and during the Xmas break he ripped up all the flooring thru his office/home, and of course this meant taking out all the desks and computers....(you may have noticed he hasn't posted lately)

If you are already on his 'list', please think two or even three times before you cancel, he has given an assurance here that those people will be getting the original price, which is a VERY good deal, I have seen the components, and some of the costs, and I don't see ANY profit at that price.....I realise it is a bit of a leap to order stuff without the dyno info, but if you can be hang in there, you can still get it at about cost price. I am on a personal mission to get his car (the only one with the ABS fooler installed) on the DYNO-JET asap!

I certainly don't know how to assure you that he is an honest guy....he has always been scrupulously honest in dealing with me.

A little patience all round may pay off, BIG time.

NO one doubts maurices honesty , we are just curious as to what is happening .

As the internet is mostly our communicating modem we are getting anxious to hear from those that have recieved one and ran one outside of canada.

WE know that maurice is a bussy boy running multiple bussinesses , but most of us only have....... ONE. ....... RX8 and we want it to go harder sooner .

I believe that the problem has come about because delivery times have been set back from the original ones in mid december , and we are still waiting.

If you read the singaporean thread i have been acussed of being an agent for maurices stage1 kit because i endorse it, no one doubts his honesty or credentials .

I personally have recieved various e-mails from the AUSSIES /BRITHISH who wont make any moves until the units have been tested for our Australian cars SPECIFICATIONS.

COME ON MAURICES COME COME ON , COME ON MAURICE COME ON . (SONG BASED ON COME ON AUSSIE COME ON )

CHEERS

If you haven't ordered yet, the cost is now $750 (I believe).

My recollection is that increase was effective on orders on (after?) Jan. 15 -- but there's been so much thread discussion I can't find the post, & search didn't help.

Installation is now supposed to be so easy even **I** can do it -- disconnect one of the battery cables, open ECU compartment with a socket wrench, plug it in, close and reconnect. Early recipients will no doubt post pictures and tips.

Well, here's what he said -- see the Canzoomer's place "sticky" --

"Actually, we are basically sold out for all we can make until January 15th.

As of that date it looks like we will be raising the price.

We were a bit optimistic about our costs when we set the price.

We will still honour the price on orders placed until December 31st, and confirmed with payment before Jan. 15th."

While I remembered correctly that the price increase is "as of Jan. 15," it was for orders placed as of Dec. 31. So a little special pleading to CZ may be in order in this particular case ....
