How do we check to see if it has the latest update? My local dealer is full of idiot parts changers that don't help or ask questions or anything but reach into your wallet. Will a hand held code reader say anything? Or is there a jumper that flashes lights or something?

 

call a different dealership, or i think theres a mazda website where you can register your car and all its data should come up. i forgot the name of it

u need a reader thats capable of reading Mazda's PCM fully, it shows you the firmware number.

well, guess most people don't have that software, (I do) so your only hope is Mazda dealer.

the one around u sucks? call another one. but you do have to bring the car in and let them read it, cuz I don't think they have such information in their databases.

 

I think the last series of flash updates for the S1 was in 2006 or so ... buy a Cobb AP and install their Stock flash and you will have it

except most of the time the dealers dont put one on because they dont have any.
