JDM Mirror lights?

Maurice, can you get the JDM "Mirror lights" that mount where the plug is on the underside of the mirrors? If so, how much?

Thanks...

O- I recall someone investigating this earlier and discovered that there was no pre-wired harness to back up this mod. Not that it couldn't be added but the assumption was that he could just replace the plug with the light and hook it up. This was not the case.

I'd be interested in these too, I don't imagine it would be too difficult to wire these up yourself even if the harness isn't in place for them.

Nah, I can create the harness, just not the lights as easily. Hence the question.

Omicron,

When would these lights come on? With the interior lights? The headlights maybe? I am also very interested in putting these in if it isn't too hard. I think they look cool. How are you going to create a harness? Will it require splicing into alot of other cables? Thanks

Lights come on with the interior lights. I figure it'll be pretty easy to tap the mirror light into the existing door light using just 2 wires. Hardest thing will be pulling off the door panel to get to the wires, and that isn't too difficult.

I agree these light would look nice. I was dissapointed when I discovered US spec cars didnt have them (most pre-order users thought we were getting them).

Some info that maybe useful in THIS thread.

To be legal, these lights should be wired to the turn signals. The common term for them is turn signal repeaters. If you wire them to be on when just driving you may get pulled over in some states. Check out equivilents on GM SUVs.

No sir, you're thinking of something different. These are lights that are on the bottom of the side mirrors, and are designed to light up the ground, not indicate turns. Take a look at the bottom of your mirrors and you'll see the plastic hole-filling plugs where the lights would go. Thanks for the input though.

Maurice tells me these are only available c/w mirror (not parts only). We are looking into building LED ones you can install.

Nah, don't worry about it. I can build them, if that's the case. Thanks though!
