interceptor x vs ulitimate

ok so im getting the greddy kit... now all im worrying about is the engine management... im looking at either the greddy ultimate or the interceptor x

now i know the interceptor x IS obviously better. BUTTT ive been hearing the ulitamate aint half bad.. now my question is what is better in relation to price: performance: value cuz new or used both ways the interceptor x is doubled the price of the ultimate...

thanks,
benny

mysql101 had the ultimate and then changed it to the Interceptor-X. He may have some good feedback for you....

I'm running both.
Which is more viable for your application really depends on your (or your tuner's) talent level.

+1 to both of them. My experience was pretty much like mysql's. I actually have less tuning experience than he does, as I'm pretty sure he used to use the canzoomer. I just didn't want to risk my new car's engine with my very limited tuning know-how. Maybe when I get older and wiser! I should have practiced all this stuff on a used play car but that's another topic

I've been thinking about how the ultimate would do with a supercharger. With a turbo the boost comes on at a higher rpm than a supercharger. Since the ultimate runs like stock until boost comes in, would the ultimate give the tuner more control over a wider rpm range? Did your numbers change while in boost?

I believe Pettit did testing with the Ultimate and now use the Interceptor-X on their supercharges....you could ask them....

I have talked with Cam and Moon at Pettit and they are actually using both the ultimate(Moons AT) and the Interceptor(Cams 6MT). That tells me that both could be a viable solution for their supercharger. At least until the reflashers come out.

even at 6 psi, the same thing applies. If your tuning is bad, no psi level is safe enough that you don't have to worry about engine damage...

If you boost your car, no matter what engine management system you choose, it MUST be tuned for your car!!! There is no base tune that will work perfectly for everyone!

from what I have gathered the Int-X isn't the best thing out there but it doesn't have as many software-related and dirveabitly issues as they E-Manage does. It's more consistant.
I don't own either- this is just my observations from this forum.....
