Interceptor-Another Happy Owner
First Impression - Fricken AWSOME.
Anyone with the Greddy turbo and R flash should definitely consider getting the Interceptor - totally different car. I believe the Interceptor is is well worth the money. The car is functioning like it never has and I just want to drive this biatch all night. I installed the Interceptor on last Friday night, was a fairly easy install once I found the nipple behind the throttle body. I had to revise the heat shielding between the ECu's because I found out that Acosta Motorsports had left out the 2 cooling trays when installing my turbo.
Some background - I was one of the first RX8's in this area, took car off showroom floor and have over 50k. I have the Greddy turbo installed for over 1 year so I know this car. I was impressed when the turbo was installed as compared to stock, but I never realized the potential power - especially after the R flash when the car ran like ****.
After the Interceptor was installed ;
- no popping which had become a pain in the ***.
-no stalling after hard stops
- much smoother transition between each gear
- no stumbling after 5k and 80MPH with the Emanage
- have car up to 8PSI - plan to go to 10PSI from 7PSI
Props to Scott who spent about 45 minutes with me Tuesday on the phone talking me through many of the main menus. After some tuning on my own, I am up to about 9 PSI at 11.4-11.7 AFR and the car obvioulsy has much more pull through all the gears.
At some point in the future, I plan on bringing the car to KD Rotary to fine tune on the dyno - I want to know my WHP.
