I was restoring my 04 rx8 with 81k miles back to its factory state but after uninstalling my access port with an MM tune on it, now my 8 stalls when it idles drobbing down below 750 all the way down to zero, have to keep it throttled so the car won't shut off. I recently checked my coils and put in new spark plugs nearly 2 days ago. The car was running smoothly when using the access port. What could this problem be? Any help would be appreciated.

 

I would reinstall the accessport, for now.

 

I have never used one so I cant be sure, but do you have to reset the ECU at all? or DC the battery?

 

Have you tried restarting again? This would be typical since the car is setting the fuel trims. Sometimes it takes a few drive cycles to get normal. Go for a drive, restart again. If it is still stalling then you have other issues.

 

^ Try what he said, as most likely it is the pcm relearning the fuel trims.
