greddy e-manage

any progress on this? I currently don't plan on going turbo since I just dumped money on a header, however with the set up I have now, I/E/H/P I'm wondering if this is worth the money to do NA? What reasonable gains are there? Or is racing beats flash the better way go? So confused :X

greddy thrust emanage - ebay -- 50 bucks shipped.
tune and instaul emanage -- 375.00
note: most of this was on tuning
start: 169.7 whp
end: 177.8 whp
This was all stock with a mazdaspeed exhaust.
prior to tune : average mpg = 16.5
after tune: will post
You can get your hands on a greddy emanage really cheep ..... I'd love to offset this huge cost some how so Ill sell the fuel map to anyone who is interested.

a stock intake is so restrictive that 5th and 6th gear really do nothing. Look at the dyno. A simple K&N high flow drop in filter gets me that.
I hear a high flow cat will put me at around 210 to 215 !! cant wait!

Do a search on high flow cat numbers...you'll be lucky to pick up 6-7 whp. I really doubt you'll reach 210 or 215 whp by adding a high flow cat.

I never claimed I was aiming for 210-215 wheel to begin with I want to stay NA forever with this car, and a HEADER is not a WASTE of time and money whatsoever... considering I got a legitimate AutoEXE at an extremely low price. There is no such thing as headers for the rx8. Just letting you know.

Hey slow down...not trying to bash you. I never said you were aiming for 210-215 whp but based on your previous post it seems like you feel this is possible with bolt ons. OK....."Header"...does it really matter. Most ppl think they are a waist of time. In the beginning I was trying to find a decent header until others on the forum said don't bother. The few members who dynod with headers were disappointed with the hp gains. Maybe you can prove them wrong once you are done modding. I hope you do make 210 - 215 whp with bolt ons cause it will give others hope.....good luck.

yea, im not gonna lie, new exhaust manifolds (headers) are a waste of money, unless someone comes up with a FAR superior design, as i have said before.
but hey arnold, those stock hp numbers are really low, it should be around 184 stock, and you could probably get about 200 with tuning and high flow cat/midpipe.
and 1stgen8, i think you may be wrong with not reaching 200 whp with just bolt ons, as i have seen multiple people hit 207 or close to there with minor bolt ons, it just depends on what you get. some arent important, but some are.

I understand the dissapointment if you spend 1400 bucks and gain 7whp. That must suck. I paid 500 though and now my whole exhaust is great! Sorry if i came off like a bitch I had a really **** day at work and I'm just really irritable.
