Hi Guys,

I'm newbie here at your club.
However, I buy a greddy turbo kit along with the emanage (blue) and install it into my 04 rx8.
I've tune it trough my e-01 boost controller. Everything is running ok, but some how i get knocking on the engine at around 3500-4500 rpm as i know that the octane in my country is pretty low and i've tried my best to aim the af ratio to a reasonable points but still got the knocking.
I've read thread from mazda maniac and follow how he hook the igntion on and change the rotary switch from A01 into BA0, i also put the diodes and resistor as instructed.
But now, I have problems: My emanage couldn't communicate with E-01 and keep showing error. Then i plug my laptop into it and still keep saying communication error check connection. I can't import, export and even upgrade the unit.
Please can anybody can tell and help me what do i do wrong ? How can i get back online again?

 

You don't need to change the rotary switch if it's the emanage that came with the turbo kit!
Also, everybody with the E-01 is having problems trying to import/export to the blue emanage. We use the support tool instead to import / export. Using the E-01 corrupts your map and screws you big time.
It happened to me and I had to reload my map. Is it really bad detonation at 3-4k rpms? Mine was when it was corrupted.
I'm guessing yours is corrupted and you could possibly mess it up. Get the support tool and check your map. If it's erase, it's posted somewhere around here.

Call Greddy and check about the E-01 unable to import/export maps to the emanage. Last I heard they didn't have a solution.

 

Is it an engine knock or a bang detonation out the tail pipes?

dragonrider: mine was Engine detonation not excessive fuel bang left on exhaust or ALS or over run boost enhancement
