e-manage ultimate and the speed limiter

i have a JDM 6 speed manual rx8 with the 187 kmph speed limiter.
i've been doing a lot of research on how to take it off.
i didn't go with accessport because i want my 8 to be custom tuned, since i already have an exhaust, and since i'm planning on getting headers and intake. so the base maps won't really do me any good. so, my next option's e-manage ultimate, which i've researched, supposedly takes it off. just so you guys know, it doesn't. i emailed them and they said it doesn't

"Thank you for your interest in Greddy Products. We apologize for the delayed response. The Ultimate will work on your JDM manual RX-8, however the speed limiter cut will not work. Traction control will not be affected."

so for all you guys out there, don't bother. planning on getting the HKS SLD Z3 instead, even though i think that it's such a waste of money just to accomplish one little thing. haha

cheers!

Do you have any clue what the Cobb is?? It is fully customizable, to every thing that engine does and thinks about. Base tunes are for datalogging only. The Cobb actually flashes the computer to all new numbers that you can change to whatever you want. The Ultimate is a piggyback system that only tricks the stock computer into adding more spark and fuel. Therefore you have to drive around with a CEL continuously on because the computer is commanding one afr while the piggy back is overriding it, therefore you get a rich code. Get rid of that POS and get a Cobb.

haha! yeah, i do. i just don't think that i'll be able to maximize the cobb by tuning it myself. plus, other tuners here are hesitant on working on something different like the cobb, let alone a rotary.

so, sorry to disappoint you, but i don't think i wanna risk having a blown engine from a bad tuning.

thank you, though.

Just order the Cobb through Mazdamaniac. When you buy it from him, he offers 6 months of free tuning. The guy knows his ****. Worth the money and no need to find a tuner.
