DashDAQ II

So has anyone tried out this little puppy to see what it can do? It looks like a cool little toy but I'm wanting someone with experience.

So no one has got one of these things to say anything for or against? For something that won a prize at SEMA for best new product no one seems to care for them.

i was going to buy one a little while ago. In fact i have been talking with them about being a Distributor. Its a great device and when the Nav is ready for it it will be a really great package.

I actually have one myself and I was just curious to if other people have had any experience with them. I personally love mine. Now if only the Cobb AP and this could be put together into one package it would be perfect. I love the guages on this one. I'm going to actually be mounting it where the ashtray and lighter are. Easy access to the ODBII and with it being a touch screen its the perfect fit and place I found. I was actually thinking of putting it up on the dash where the nav system would be. I have the housing for it, but its just too small and the console is too big for it. Its really hard to notice down there unless you're looking right at it.
I personally recommend it.

if i do end up being a distributer i hope to have a couple of different mounting options available . there is the possiblity of a flash tuning software compatible with the RX-8 being offered with it. not having it is the only thing holding me back from promoting it. with that , the diagnostics that come with it and available GPS would make it a nearly perfect package.

here is a previous short discussion with links for anyone looking for more info

If the flash option was available I would buy it in a second. The unit itself so far I love on basically every level. If it only had that one extra little thing It;d be perfect for me. Its kind of a pain in the butt having to unhook for AP and rehook. Its a very user friendly product. Thanks for the link.

Thats true. I can't stand having anything on my front window. Thats why it's actually going under the fan/temp *****. That way its always visible, yet out of the way. I got a guy that will fab some cheap stuff up for me.

This is my first post but I'm a very active member over on our UK site and was hoping you guys might be able to help me out.
I've been looking at getting the DashDAQ and was hoping it might be able to display the oil temp, water temp and oil pressure now I know it can't display these as standard via the OBDII port but was hoping the info might be able to be got via a sensor so have any of you guys been able to get this info on the DashDAQ. I was looking at the RB dials but the DashDAQ gives you so much more info and looks cool but I really want the oil temp, water temp and oil pressure.
Oh and one last thing has anyone got it with the sat nav yet.

Cheers

Chris

I'll have to go check to see if yo ucan get oil, water temp and pressure. I'm not sure you can. You will have to get some other kind of sensors. As for the sat nav...I haven't heard anything yet.I really just love to see how well my car is running and to take care of any check engine lights that might come on. This would actually be a better question to ask the company itself. They even have a forum as well.

You won't get oil temp or pressure from the pcm. Water temp - yes.

My mx3 > your mx3. Though I've neglected her attention since getting the 8.

you can add up to 2 0-5v analog inputs in the DashDaq

http://www.dashdaq.com/specs/addons.htm

and monitor/record them right alongside everything else and have them diplayed as gauges. there are ways to increase this even more

We have a local Rotorhead here in Phoenix that's a distributor for these. I want one real bad. Had it hooked to my car a while back and it's sweet!

I shall have one soon.

Here's a video,,,

Cheers Guys it's pretty much as I thought shame there's no sat nav yet and I'm guessing you'll get it in the us before we get it in the uk.
Has anyone got any idea as to where would be the best place to get the 0-5v sensors and will they need any setting up or is it just a case of fitting them and plugging them in.
Thanks again for all you help so far.

Look for electrical gauge senders that have a 0-5 volt output (www.summitracing.com has a few for starters). You will probably have to tell the DashDAQ what the readings from the analog lines mean (ie 2.5 volts = 230 degrees, or whatever), although I'm not sure how exactly that works in the software.
