CZ flashing orange/yellow light

I've seen in the past where someone had a flashing orangish yellow light on their CZ and couldn't connect to it either. For the life of me I can't find the post or the resolution the problem. The light stays solid until the car is running. When it's running it is continually flashing. What does this mean? I'm also unable to download or upload any maps it.

I've gone through the process of resetting the ECU and what-not but no luck.

Any ideas?

Have you installed the Greddy software AND the software for the cable (two seperate installs)?

Yeah, at one time everything was working just fine. I did a software/firmware update and upped a new map then all of a sudden all communication stopped. Rather than troubleshooting too much I just shipped the thing to Maurice and got it upgraded to the latest "gold" version and had him do some testing while he had it. He says everything worked just fine in his car, so now I don't know what's going on.

The laptop is a Dell that I'm trying to connect with. I've heard of people having connectivity issues with USB and what-not, but the programming cable is being recognized correctly and the software acts like it's communicating with the cable. It just gets hung up when trying to download a map or any other kind of communication with the CZ. I've reinstalled drivers, reinstalled the e-manage software, etc.

I'd PM dannobre - he had the same problem I think, but figured it out. It has to due with the Gold version of the Greddy board. I know that you cannot use E-Manage maps that you wrote for the Blue board anymore.

Thanks Nemesis8. I PM'ed dannobre and he made me aware of the newer version of the software for the gold version. Once I got everything re-installed it worked like a charm. Now to the tuning!

what actually are the benefits of upgrading to gold for the cz? Would you mind sharing the price for the upgrade?

I'm sure the other guys can explain it better and there's plenty of posts out there, but the main reason I did it was for the upgraded ignition circuitry. The original version I had came out prior to the on/off switch also.

The cost of the upgrade was $75.
