Jeff... I downloaded the RaceTUNER software so I guess my map needs to be redone (per your forum comments). My current map and log are attached.

My wish list for the new map....

Really?

I guess omission is a form of lying, but that aside, you don't find it particularly telling that 6 months after you started you were back demanding more because you downloaded the ATR?
I mean, what more needs to be said really?

MazdaManiac 05-20-2009 01:01 AM

The entire point of this is - good bad or otherwise, you get your 6 months. I do what I can.
When I can be charitable, I will give the shirt off of my back. I think that is abundantly clear in the dozens of people that I have extended or transferred over the last year.

But this little prick has been taking advantage of me and stabbing me in the back at every turn since he came to the forum, let alone purchased an AccessPORT.

Just the sheer audacity to have a sense of entitlement after he put it right out there that he was taking advantage of me.
Unbelievable.

Reading this post, I'll throw in a noob POV.

The service is stated for 6 months, and he extended that for you. I would think that you would be happy that he did at least that. He could have just said sorry 6 months is up. Seems to me he was trying to help you and well maybe that went bad.

Maybe if you would take the 15 seconds to say "Hey everything already looks good, no further adjustments are needed" instead of either ignoring people or saying other bullshit - then your life would be much easier....

Maybe you ought to read and remmember the large amount of times I defended your ass....
The good gesture of creating some spreadsheets also really shows i'm a prick...

from here on out, i will use your "---- you"

Good gesture?
So if you do something that is totally self-serving that happens to be useful to other people (BTW - the sheet never worked correctly the way you designed it - I had to make my own in the end), you are entitled to free stuff?
I gotta remember that.

Meanwhile, you are doing what here? Trying to convince me you deserve more free stuff? Trying to convince RX-8Club that you deserve more free stuff?
Trying to convince RX-8Club that I'm an asshole for not giving you more free stuff? Trying to convince RX-8Club not to get free stuff from me because, at some point, I'll stop giving it away?
I just don't see how you think this tantrum is even remotely effective.

...and i notice your instructions still require the same info needed for that spreadsheet (since there really isn't much other use for vehicle speed). Anything else you may want to fabricate?

Oh right, I should have kept those spreadsheets only for your use. We wouldn't want the AccessPort for the RX-8 to have an open community where many members share information and maps like every other frikkin car that Cobb supports.... including the MS3 which has had ATR software for only a few weeks

What do you mean "only for you [me] to use"?
You put it out there for everyone. I just downloaded like everyone else.
Then I told you it didn't work and what it needed to do to be useful.
Its not like you created it for me.

Look. I surrender. You are right. I'm a horrible person for not giving you more free stuff. I should be thankful that I have a customer like you that berates me in public, reverse-engineers my work and belittles it here and then asks me to do more.
You win.
Enjoy your free calibrations.

During this time, were you running a cat or not?

at the beginning of this, in the cobb forums, he's saying he has a cat and that he doesn't want mm to destroy it with the tune. he's very adamant about not destroying his cat.

yup, I'm such a prick to you

rotarykillz 05-20-2009 02:10 PM

Can I have something cleared up here that doesn't seem to be clear?

The original service that was paid for, Cobb AP + 6 months of mapping/tuning support right?

Was that service wrong or incomplete?

Did
you
get
what
you
paid
for?

Not
what
you
think
you
should
get.

I'm on no side here btw....playing devils advocate both ways, but I will be looking at tuning in the future and want to know if the above question's answer is.

Thanks,

Derek

You are right. I could have just sent you your 10 original base calibrations and called it quits with no additional work at all.
Instead, I held your hand for 13 months while you were biting it all the while.

I received ten calibrations when I first got my AP from MM and used one of them. I never touched the others and my car ran perfect. I was given the free extended 6 months but never used them because I never had to. I believe I am now out of my 6 month free service yet I am still being helped by MM with my dwell issue with the new BHR coils. Once I get the new dwell map I am confident I will not need any other maps due to past experiences. Thanks MM.

All I can say is... I am EXTREAMLY HAPPY with the tune and service I recieved from Jeff. I think that most people dont realize the scope of what Jeff is offering? (And now that Jeff has so many customers, maybe he originally didnt realize the scope of what he was offering.) I'm not trying to Slam on you Rotor, but give the man a break, step back a second, and think... Did he provide you with what he stated? Did he provide you with more than he stated?

I am no car tuner... I tinker with cars... But IMHO there is nothing wrong with your AFR's.

I have to agree with Jeff's last statement... Do you know what a good AFR reading is, compared to a bad one?

Again, I am in no way trying to pick a fight with you Rotor... I am just wondering if you may be the victim of bad information.
