There is no stage 2 tune from Cobb.

Bottom Line: Buy the accessport with the expectation that unless you can tune the car yourself you will need to pay to have someone do it for you. You cannot purchase this product with the expectation that it comes with a perfect tune that will work out of the box. That's not the purpose of this product.

This is not a product you want to try and cut corners with. The result will be more headaches than you bargained for.

I wouldn't trust much of anything that you read on Cobb's RX8 forum. Mazdamaniac overwhelmingly has tuned the vast majority of RX8's with accessPORTS so he is your only needed source for this information.

Sorry bud... but that is correct.
Jeff offers the "tuning discount" when you purchase the AP through him.

Basically, as others have mentioned, you want a custom tune. These engines are finicky and in order for it to run well you want to have a tune specifically for your car. That's why tunes like the stage 1 cobb or w/e stage they make wont work well. They might work for one car but then destroy another.

To make a more extreme example... using a generic tune would be like filling up your tank from a pump that may have regular unleaded gas. It could work well or it could destroy your engine. But if you spend a little extra at the gas station across the street, you know what you're getting and can be sure it will match up with your car.
