COBB acessport SUCKS
Wow, this thread is gawd awful. Research was limited at best and the rant is based from a person who didn't even attempt to tune it themselves. Now i could understand if he attempted himself and realized he hated it for legit reasons - but it's apparent that someone else told him it sucks so now he's relaying the message.
how wonderful. I heard rx8's suck too...i wonder if i should start a thread

Edit: After reading this whole train wreck I see that this has been mentioned many times already.

Didn't you just moved to Daytona????, if so FL is heaven for any rotorheads, there are MANY shops that specialize in rotaries ONLY. Come to the "Central Florida Rotaries" meets, we got people with years and years of experience that have done it all, superchargers, turbochargers, porting, swaps, you name it, someone has done it to their Rx8, just ask around, I'm sure some one can help you with the Cobb.
It is $700 from MM with 6 months of tuning, or as long as it takes to get it right. MM is a fair person and if there was delay on his end that pushed you beyond the 6 months, he will recognize that. Or you can pay $300 for the 6 month tuning service. There are no other options for MM.
The factory tunes are over rich in order to save the cat as federal law requires them to be warrantied for 100K miles.
With a mid-pipe, or a person willing to replace cats more frequently, the tunes can be leaned out quite a bit to get better MPG's as well as more power.
If I may...

But I thought Charles was referring to maps made by Cobb and that for some reason they had to abide by some federal regulations...
