So I was thinking of what to get next? What do you guys think? Atm my Rx-8 is fairly stock engine wise, just a cold air intake. Which do you guys think will be best for me? Yes I do plan on going with a turbo kit later on along with other engine mod's which is why I'm not certain of which to get. Any thoughts/comments would be great, thanks!

 

Since the Racing beat Reflash gives you zero control of the out-come the answer is simple. A dealer could also erase the flash. If that was to happen with the AP you could reflash your ECU again, with the RB flash you would have to send it back to them. Fed Ex does lose things also, would suck if they lost your ECU.

 

AP, hands down

 

AP especially if you plan to make use of it when you turbo.

it all depends. if u really ARE gonna go turbo. ap hands down. if u wanna spend the difference for the ap with the tuning... go for that. if your not gonna do the race flash and get rid of ur cat... still go for the ap.

i have the race flash cuz i dont care to have a cat... i will remain non turbo... and dont want to bother with tuning especially when i was on the dyno they say my a/f is perfect... the only thing i would want from the ap is to control the......

RB race flash is a nice plug'n'play solution - no tuning, and optimized for catless running.

It has another nice side benefit - it will work in ANY RX-8 - the key chip recognition thing is disabled.
Your buddy wants to try it, you unplug and install it on his car for a demo.

Could come in handy for someone with a dead ECU.....or if a guy wanted to enter the 'stealing RX-8s for a living' career path!

This "feature" is not limited to the RB flash.

 

Yeah I do plan on going with a turbo for this car so seems like the AP is the way to go, also planning to buy a Borla cat back exhaust soon. I've also read that the AP doesn't do much for stock cars with a CAI though, so I'll have to read up on that.

 

How much it "does" for your car (power-wise) depends on how close the OE Mazda tune is on your particular car.
They are all over the place from the factory.

 

AP+Borla Exhaust+Mazdaspeed CAI sound good? I've done some reading before about the AP and it seems like its best to buy it from Mazdamaniac.
