CANscan tool trouble, Please help

Has anyone had trouble getting their CANscan tool going. I have tried two different computers so far and neither will recognize the tool unless it is plugged into the car as well. When the PC's do recognize and attempt to install drivers neither my XP or '98 systems find the proper driver. (Yes I am telling them to look in the CDROM supplied with the CANscan tool.) I even downloaded the latest 3.61 and 3.70 updates from Harrison.

Please help

I can help with the first part: the tool gets its power from the OBD-II connector, not from the USB connector, so it will only run when it's plugged in to the car. What you're seeing is "normal" for the CANscan, even if it's not typical USB device behavior.

Hopefully someone else can help with the drivers. My XP laptop installed the ones on the CD without a problem, so I'm a bad test case.

Also go back to the orginal software you got from the canzoomer as I have experinced difficulties with the Harisson software that I downloaded.
It never connects to the car.
Orginal software connects like lightning.

Harrison software is not A/F corrected for tuning either. Very important to be careful. The HArrison is up to 1.0 to rich in some places...so you will end up lean and pinging if you are using it to tune to the edge
