AP-Open source Turbo tune?

OK guys, was wondering if you wanted to try something new. I will probably get flamed and attacked here, but I can handle it. I would hope though, that those not supporting this idea simply leave us alone to fail.

What I would like to do is post my tune for anyone to download and explore. Feel free to pick it apart and tell me what you like or don’t like. Please try to be constructive though. If you have advice for a better way to do something, please offer it and explain your reasoning. I will answer any questions or concerns and explain why I did certain things. If I make changes based on any advice here I'll test it and offer my opinion on the results. If others wish to post their tune for comparison and discussion, please do so.

A fair warning: I am NOT a professional tuner. I wouldn’t even consider myself a good tuner. I simply research a lot and try to apply what I find. However, I have tuned my custom turboed car for the last 5 months. I daily drive it and have had no major issues. It still runs fine and makes great power. Is it optimal? I highly doubt it. Could I make more power? Probably. I have simply tried my best to err on the side of safety rather than power. And you know what? I haven’t blown it up yet. I haven’t even experienced a single detonation. I haven’t thrown a single alarming code. This leads me to believe that getting a tubo car running isn’t nearly as difficult as some are led to believe.

Our community has a lot of very knowledgeable and helpful members and if you ask the right questions you can get great information. The problem I've found with learning to set up a turbo tune on our cars is that you have to search ALOT and pick little tidbits out of many, many varied and rambling threads to find everything. Also there are some things which simply aren’t discussed or kept as "trade secrets". I respect this and I'm not asking everyone to show all their cards so to speak. What I will ask here is that those that are willing to offer helpful advice or input do so. Sometimes it takes a different perspective or explanation to help different people understand and apply different concepts. My goal here is for an open dialogue where people can see and discuss the results of different aspects of the tune.

Now then, the details of my car. I will post this so that you can see the application of differnet parts of the tune.

The turbo itself is a T04E 60-1 P trim, 1.00 divided turbine. @8PSI
My turbo manifold is a top mount similar to Esmeril or SFR. It is not divided, I simply used a divided flange and ported it to a knife edge.
WG is a Synchronic 50mm
My downpipe and exhaust is 3".
My 02 sensor has a latency of about 1.7 seconds. This is why some of my fuel tables add fuel very early in the load/RPM tables. To try to offset this.
My injectors are still stock.
My Coils are Yukons(same as BHR)
Plugs are stock trailing and RX7 trailers in the leading.
My maf sensor is still in the stock tube(cut from stock intake). The intake is 3.5" I'm still running totally stock MAF scale!
Intercooler and piping are all 2.5"
BOV is recirculated.

I think this is all thats relevant. If anyone feels any other details should be added please point it out and I'll add it What I think is relevant here as that I"m still running stock injectors and MAF scale. This will help to demonstrate some of the universal aspects of the tune.

Disclaimer! I do NOT recommend you put this tune on your car and run it. I accept ZERO responsibility for any damage incurred if you do so. All cars are different and require different tunes. The goal here is to understand the universal concepts and applications as an educational exercise. A side effect could be that down the road we reach a universally accepted safe base tune.

The file is Zipped(only so It could be attached)

Your cal load MAX table is jacked. There are quite a few cells where the load will exceed your maximums.

Your fuel tables are insanely rich (provided your MAF calibration and injector scaling is correct), especially in the "NA" (low to mid load) ranges. You just, essentially, maxed out the projected values everywhere off idle.

Your BARO comp table is gonna do some really, really, REALLY horrible things to people that aren't at sea level.

Your IAT compensation table is gonna completely ruin your tune as the temps change.

Why didn't you extend your MAF table?

I'm not sure I understand what you did with your OMP table.

I don't know how your WBO2S could have a latency of 1.7 sec. It is typically about 1/12 of a second max.

So, in a nutshell, this tune is completely useless as a starting point. Sorry.

Perhaps it might be more useful for you to discuss each table and what you believe it does and how to utilize it in your base tune.

Thanks for the input MM I posted this today so it could collect some responses. I wont have time to look at my tune and figure out what I did there till saturday.

Right now I"m sitting in a corner with my droid trying to ignore inlaws

hmmmm... Wont my Calc load max table being exceeded cause it to default my timing tables? If thats the case I"m supprised I havent gotten any knock.

Yea those sound like the tables that I adjusted the values up to 2.0 load...but never addressed them properly. ITs been running so I jsut left well enough alone.

If I remember right I just increased my OMP a little in the lower load/rpm areas for insurance. The rest should be the same as stock, just converted to the new load table. Similar loads should match the stock map.

wow..my thumbs are getting tired lol
