Since you've got a midpipe and not a HF cat (which is even louder) I would suggest you get at least the 18" Random.
Did you order this directy from Random, I don't see this listed on their website. I don't have a resonator since I have the midpipe without resonator and it seems to me this type of unit would also work by splicing it in the midpipe where a resonator would normally be.

EDIT - Sorry I missed the two posts above, where you guys seem to be talking about the same idea, I am going to look at it and see if the cat or flange would be lower, than a spliced in muffler.

I have a Canzoomer that I haven't installed, and so was thinking to get the Canzoomer hi-flo cat, resonator, S2 maps and use the stock muffler to save a little and .. just maybe.. the sound would be upped just the right amount :D
Can you guys see anything wrong with this?

Has anyone done that and listened if it has the 'right' increased sound tone/level? With so little HP lost in the stock muffler, why waste it? Maybe by giving the stock muffler a little more sound to work with on the way in will produce something better on the way out? Not to mention the the savings of not putting out the $$ for a catback.

You think this will quiet it down more then the glass pack? I have the borla and I'm having a hard time deciding to go back to stock or perform this fix before buying a hi flow cat.

ok i installed the midpipe keepin my fingers crossed have driven about 50 miles no CEL light......im hopin it wont..........but i am likin the B&B midpipe mixed with the racing beat sound, sounds like ur typical exhaust until about 4000 rpms, when it like hits a transition into the higher rpms, then just screams like a street bike, i love it........ plus revvin the motor i can shoot some blue flames out the tailpipes.

50 miles isn't necessarily enough to trigger the test cycle that will cause the CEL. More like 500 miles, give or take, a monitoring cycle will take place (given the correct conditions) where the on board diagnostics will do some tests to see if the cat is doing it's job.

If it can't see that the cat is working effectively, then it is CEL time.

Cheers,
Hymee.

I've got the cel after 350 miles ...

and I feel the car very good no power lost or torque ... (it's normal ??)

I read somewhere that with the cel you're always in open loop mode ??? is it right ??

I got the cell after 20 miles. heh.

Has anyone gotten the 18"?

I'm interested since the borla + b&b midpipe was insantly loud, and rapsy as hell. Stock catback + midpipe is pretty good under 4k, and sounds very nice over 5k, but inbetween that range, it's got a buzzing sound that annoys me.

Any idea what could fix the buzz? Or do I need a sound clip for you to guess?
