ON DIY: Rear brake Bulb Replacement

Is there a DIY on replacing the brake light bulbs for the RX-8?

Also, I have purchased LEDs to replace the bulbs (Brake, Reverse and Turn) - do a I need a resistor for the turn signal LED repalcement if I'm not replacing the front turn signals with LEDS?

Tks

I believe the instructions are in the owners manual. Its very easy, just open your trunk, remove the inner trim from the back, and you can see the light sockets from there. Twist them to remove and just pull out the bulbs.

I believe you need resistors for the turn signals otherwise they will blink double speed.

Thanks for the tips. I'll have a look in the owners manual.

Check the DIY here on rear bumper removal and you'll see the bulb connectors. As Blazed cites you just need to peel back the trunk liner by removing a few poppet screws and he connectors are easily accessible.

Also see the owner's manual.

It appears V-LEDs shipped me the wrong LED for my turn signals! I have contacted them and they will ship out the amber LEDS.

I installed the rest of the LEDS for the tail lights and no problemo! However, I see that although the bulb can be inserted in the socket it actually only lights up if placed presumably with the correct polarity so I had to switch the LEDS if they did not light up immediately.

Regarding the resistors for the turn signal is this something I can get at The Source or is this a speciality item I need to order from V-LEDS? (I did plug in the red brake LEDs just to test them out an I noticed the quick turn signal flashing so I'm thinking I will need a resistor)
