You can leave them or remove them. They honestly do not hurt or affect the vehicle as they are just small ground wires. The Lineage kit is adding larger better conducting ground wires throughout the engine.

The ground points would be the same providing the wire lengths are close.
I know the Linage kit is very close in wire lengths to the Hyperground kit.
i'm not sure about the wire in the NRGInnovations kit.
How many cables does you kit have?

 

So do you feel this is a mod everyone should be doing or primarily those that have additional electronics, amps, or accessories installed? Are there significant benefits to a stock car with the factory equipment?

 

Nice DYI, it gave me the idea to look into grounding wires as well. The car is new so the original ones might work fine for now, but seeing their quality, I can forsee future problems due to corrosion (rough idle, etc.). I looked onto the site and found the maxground.com wires to be of identical quality but less expesive. They follow a different route and avoid the alternator ground point, so it took 10 min for the install. Came with their own instructions (color!). Also, I could avoid having the long wire crossing the engine bay hooked onto the strut stabilizer bar. I routed it on the firewall as there are two unused tube holders that I used for the wire (they are white, cannot miss them, one is on top of the oil filter )

 

I have seen on eBay that in addition to the ground wires, you can also get a positive charging system or "voltage stabilizer". Does anyone know if this is worth the money or not?

 

I've just purchased the grounding kit and voltage stabilizer, m gonna install them (hopefully over this coming weekend), will try to reply some feedback here. Frankly this stuff provides very little improvements, so, its one of those mode where its good to be there but really how well it performance remain a ?

 

Lets us know what if any improvments the voltage stailizer gives. From what I've read it sounds like a cap kit.

 

Installed the Voltage Stabilizer and the grounding kit on Saturday. Only have been driving for the last 4 days. The only impressions are:-
The car drives smoother, it feels good, slightly quiter. I'm from tropical island, so it gets pretty hot during the day. And the car can feels pretty sluggish during the hot mid day. On the contrary, the car feels great when the weather gets cooler, and this is wat i'm experiencing now after the kit being installed. Can't wait to try it when the weather gets a little cooler, as it has beeing hot for the last few days.

Anyway, beside the smoother drive, its probably a little more responsive as well.
As for increase of HP and torque, I dont think so. Even if there are any improvements, its to little to tell/feel.

The VoltageStabilizer that I've gotten is a little different from most of what's in the market. Most have only the Positive and Negative post, my has an additional negative cable to a grounding point. Thus 3 cables coming out of the box. And my ground point are mainly route to a central point, which i choose the point near the tower brace.

great DIY, i had some regular 2 guage audio wire lying around so i decided to make my own grounds. I used this guide to find grounding points. I will probably be adding more gorunds later on for now this many is sufficient.

Glad it helped you out. I did change one point of connection It the rear bolt that holds the plate the ign. coils to the short block.

Just rerouted some of my wires last weekend too, including a new one to the the coil plate... gotta real nice whine in my audio system now....especially when the USB XM PCR sat radio is plugged into the 4 port hub (CarPC).... I even took it apart and soldered on a custom ground from the XM PCR antenna connector, but no change...
Might be time for new spark plug wires, and a better 1/8" mini cable from the PC to the sat box....

Any of you guys run a line to the ECU shell like me? I also have one on the alternator, intake manifold, and a couple of fender mounted ones where other ground bundles meet....

Yea, somethings just need to be re-surrected, some not (i.e. V-6 swaps).

Anyways, I bought one of those super cheepo kits last year, and threw away the mounting block head (IT WAS F'ING GOLD ANODIZED ALUMINIUM!!! = NOT VERY F'ING CONDUCTIVE! = sparking all over the place!) but all the wires were kept and are run to the two available posts on the yellow top and to various key grounding spots in the bay. The Car PC's power supply has an 8 gauge coming from the passenger side fender eyelet ground, which is alternately connected straight from the battery via one of the aforementioned ground lines.

This excessive whine seems to have come after I re-grounded the coils (which kinda makes sense) but I am not entirely sure (I suppse I should pull the ground while whine is present huh!). I also ran another ground to my 'main' ground block near the CarPc, and touched various parts of the radio chassis etc... but there was absolutely no change. My next step is to try a much better quality shielded 1/8"mini line to feed the PC from the XM box, and I also have some RCA style ground isolation adapters I can try.

 

I just installed the Z Enterprises grounding kit. The wires came in the mail in two days, and at this time of year that is pretty impressive. Price for this kit was about $45 dollars including shipping.

The kit came with the wires, instructions w/pics, and zip ties. Install was very simple especially with the good, easy to understand instructions.

Honestly, I can't tell any difference in throttle response or performance. But, this is a "feel good" mod, the kit is nicely made and easily installed in about 30 mins or so.
