just installed home made kit

Silverx8 had some serious gauge wire in his garage that we used to make a custom grounding kit last night for my 8. we took out the battery, the battery box, the air filter / cmpletely / and we hit all the factory grounding points including under the battery box we ran all the wires to their individual grounding points, routing them beneath the rest of the engine wires so there were not STOOPID in the way, and we connected it to the neg terminal of the battery.

The benefit to using your own wire... besides being cheaper, they are black, so they look like they belong. I really cant stand to look at the kits that have contrasting wires like purple... all over an otherwise clean and neat engine bay.

after one day of driving with this kit I will say that there is no obvios HP gains, but the engine idle is smoother and it feels as though the throttle response is a little smoother and even.

Is this highly recommended for those of us that are running high power audio systems?

I know there is a lot of talk about the RX-8 being lousy when it comes to grounding. Will this help elliminate engine & alternator noise and audio whine in aftermarket stereos?

The 8's ground are better than some, but not much.. As for this removing the whine/noise, maybe.
Chamberlin will probably have a better answer.
