the battery will not get any hotter there than it does on top of the radiator/overflow bottle. I know this for sure.
what the op really needs to do is to get a cai--that k&N filter in that spot is sucking in a lot of hot air--op check your iats--you will see.

I was getting intake temps of around 130 (i think)with the k/n intake. So this summer I bought a aem cai. Now I am getting temps a few degrees above atmosphere temp. The k/n is for sale if any one is interested.
