With colder temps settling in, I thought I would remind everyone now would be a good time to change the cabin air filter.

Remember to always leave your recirculated air setting on when you park.
This closes the vent to the engine compartment, which keeps mice from nesting in your dash.

I only drive about 1000 miles a year, working from home so the answer is, not really.

I was like, what the hell is that smell?!?! I live in NH and the car rarely gets outside in the winter.

I had to pull the fan out to remove it all. Re-installed the fan. OMG my AC blows my hair back. But, it then sucked 2 more handfuls of dog food out of the vent. Cleared that. Took it for a drive.

Cleared it two more times. If I could see the line I'd hit it with a compressor.

I'm just happy that the jammed fan didn't start a fire.

I know this is an old thread. Maybe less importance than other responsibilities to your car but seeing as I'm a fairly new owner, I thought I would share with everyone & maybe encourage those who haven't already, clean out your cabin air filter (a really easy task. Continue to first page of this thread for instructions) The sight of only brings 1 word to mind, GROSS! There is another thread here that someone had complained of a critter getting into the cabin filter area. Remind me of a story. Years ago, I had a customer come in and complain of a burning smell shortly after driving anywhere. I had discovered field mice had been taking a local dogs food and stashing inside the headlamp. So when the vehicle was turned on the bulb was burning the dog food. Haha Quite a bit of subject, but all the nasty stuff floating around in the air, or the things that critters might be stashing in your vehicle while not in use. Clean your C.A.F. You'll be much happy with yourself and the air you breathing in

For anyone who has recently purchased Aldehyde C.A.F.s, where did you get them from & how much were they?
I get them from Amazon, but they're out.
Thanks.

Thanks Guys, I went the Lowes charcoal and filter media route and rebuilt the old housing! Works great and much improved air flow. Man there was a bunch of junk in there!

Glad I found this thread. I will check this out this weekend at home and see whats inside of mine. Mine might just need a quick blow out by an air compressor who knows.

I did pull mine out. They were caked with dirt and build up, basically flat with all the debris, you couldnt see the pleats at all. Leaves and tons of **** in there. I scraped it out with a brissel brush but since the filters are so cheap I'lll just snag one off Amazon. I will do my wifes car as well since its probably just as bad having never been changed in 6 years.
