wideband o2 sensor install help

i got a autometer nexus wideband o2 sensor, i unplugged the stock o2 and replaced it with the nexus one. My check engine light comes on now with code p0031 which is Front HO2S heater control circuit low ON 2 HO2S heater. I am assuming that this code is on because there is no o2 sensor plugged into the stock harness. Can someone help me with this problem? maybe a different way to wire it?

The reason you get the cell is becase you ECU expects to get the readings from it's sensor (this is how it monitors the health of your cat) but it doesnt.
Unless you are using an aftermarlket EMS such as Int-X you are better off installing the aftermarket sensor properly.

Why, exactly, did you do this and what were you expecting to happen?

That's like unplugging one of your arms, plugging a foot in the socket and wondering why you can't hold a spoon and feed yourself.

my stock o2 sensor was stuck in the manifold, and i called greddy and asked if i could do this, they said that it wont throw a code, but it did, and now i guess im going to have to get a stock one, and just leave the wideband.

Ok what he ment lol is... His stock o2 got destroyed when trying to remove it from the manifold while installing a turbokit.

So now he wanted to know if there is a way to replace the stock o2 with the nexus one?

Seeing that if you go buy a new front o2 for a rx8 its like 300 bucks...

We tried to wire in the wideband, but not 100% sure of the stock wires function, and the stock is a 4 wire and the bosch is a 5 wire.

So pretty much is there a way to use the bosch wideband insted of that really exspensive stock one? with the ability to watch the A/F on the nexus gauge?
