Yep about what I would guess it at, though when you add drag and road resistence that will drop.

But when you are on the highway in 6th gear you'll notice that a 4k you do about 80, 4.5=90, 5k=100, 6=120, 7=140, 8k=160, 9k=180ish. Every 500 rpms it seems to gain about 10 mph. Dunno thats just what I've observered. Overall would think give road and aero drag that it could manage into the 160-170 range.

yea on most 8s unless theyve had the like the rb reflash n other boltons to help with power........theyll max out around 140-150.......now im curious i have the rb race flash n im gettin my car back in less then a week and a half.......im gonna try to top it out on an open freeway see if i can break 165......considerin i hit 165 about 87-8800 rpms now that i have more of a redline....

Thats about right...shifting into 6th would make you start to lose speed. Best you could hope to see would be 140-145ish (maybe 150ish) on a VERY long straight with all the enviromental conditions right.

 

Ummm...NO...just because the trans is geared for it does NOT mean you can get there without SERIOUS modifications.

 

I went to Germany with my dad and brother, we rented a BMW, I love the autobahn and I hit 125ish, redlined in 5th, with my dad and brother in car. It was pretty sick, I was 14 (years old). We just got an RX8 last week i love it. I've gone fast enough in it, even though its A/T.

 

i've done 167 in my stock rx8.. took forever though. car is basically drag limited above 140, and slowly creeps faster.. from 140-167 was about 4 minutes. 65-140, was less than 20 seconds.. you need a LOT of road to do it.
